Dont you think this sounds too harsh on a kiddie show?

Well, he didn't actually eat him, but he was trying to. Cookie kept trying to remember what he wanted in the bakery that rhymed with sky. He ate the baker's tie, the letter I, and then tried to munch on Guy, but he ignored the obvious, the pie.

That is the only time I recall Cookie Monster trying to eat another character, but I always thought the skit was hilarious. Guy Smiley started running like crazy.

In Show #1, when he was an anonymous monster, after eating the lines to Kermit's "W" he tried to eat Kermit himself, almost by his frog's legs.

But he was far less developed at the time. He didn't understand that it's not polite to devour your friends yet.
