I'd asked this, like, forever ago, and figured it might be a good time to ask again if anyone has a link to the old, old Ernie's Barbershop clip or clips (since there was about three or four of them telling the story). I can't find it anywhere, though somehow Muppetwiki got their hands on a screen capture, which leads me to figure there must be a clip floating around out there somewhere.
