From what I've read, Steve was unable to make it to the filming of season 2, because of other performances he had to do, and they reeled in Johnny T. as a stand in. I could be wrong, or I could be a little off, but this is from what I've heard.
Just a few things to add here. It has previously been mentioned that Matt is Oscar's alternate performer, not John. (With the exception of 'Sesame Street 4D) Also, I believe Clementine was performed by Brain Muehl and Camille Bonora. I'm guessing Dr. Nobel Price must have had a third performer. Didn't Brian Muehl leave in 1980? And Kevin Clash didn't really perform on the show until 1985? So who performed him from 1980 to 1985?D'Snowth said:Okay, here's the updated list:

Now then, is there anyone else I missed?
I don't know. That would explain why Richard was credited on "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street," but I have heard from many other sources that it was Michael Earl Davis or whatever his name was.BEAR said:Richard Hunt played Snuffy from 1977-1980.
Maybe they were just referring to the fact that Richard did the back half. I'm just assuming, because I've never seen any sources that said that Richard did the front and the voice. I wish I had a copy of "Unpaved" so I could take a look at that. I'm not disagreeing with you or anything like that. I'm just wondering, since I heard that Jerry quit in 1977 and Marty took over in 1980, so that leaves a three-year gap and again that would explain why Richard was credited in CESS. It's something to think about.BEAR said:Trust me... it WAS Richard Hunt during that time, according to my book Sesame Street Unpaved
Well, maybe it was Jerry who did the voice and he just wasn't in the costume.D'Snowth said:It sounds alot like Jerry in CESS to me.
