Big Bird in China/Japan...

Hey, I just saw "Big Bird in China" and "Big Bird in Japan" for the first time on video, and loved both of them--it was great seeing BB getting around all those locations. Some of itwas a little bit dated, but sometimes that's a good thing--like BARKLEY being along for the ride both times!!!

I love that doggie.

"Big Bird in China" also has a great song/scene on Sesame Street with BB, Oscar, Telly (old Telly with the different voice!), Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, and Grover--very funny song.

If you have the chance to see these (check your local libraries!) you should do it.

Very cool Old School Sesame Stuff.

Yeah, Quinn, those are two great Sesame specials. The trip to China seems a little bit better in my mind than the journey to Japan, but they're both good specials. The thing that always sticks in my mind from Big Bird in China is the joke at the end of the song sung on the Street. Big B says that he's off to find the phoenix, and then Grover says: "I thought Phoenix was in Arizona." And you can't deny the beauty of the end scene in China where this translucent energy-made being known as the Phoenix sings its song to Big Bird. A good point from the trip to Japan is when everyone-s saying hello to each other and the Two-Headed Monster pops in at a Japanese location as if he were part of the song or the journey as well.
