Beau is fat!

Okay, so I stopped by Toys R Us today to look around just for kicks and giggles when I noticed on the shelf a couple of Muppet figures. The only characters they had were a Frog Scout Robin and a bunch of Beauregards. They were on sale so I figured I would buy them both. The total was only $12 for the two figs so whats to complain about there, right! I know I said that my real focus was on the Sesame characters, but when I see a good deal on good characters, I go for it, Besides, FS Robin had some really cool accessory items.
Anyway, the real point of the post is, when I was looking at the Beauregard figure I noticed how huge he was. Why is he so big? I put my Fozzie fig up next to him and Foz looked kinda weak in comparison. Going by scale, was the Beau puppet that enormous on the show? It is still a cool figure, but just a little strange. Anyone else see what I see??

Yes, sadly, on the show he was fat. If you watch *sniff* he has this HUGE backside when he walks away from kermit in the "Let my people go" scene from the episode with the rats. However, in my mind, and in the minds of those who love him, Beau is different to that. Slightly. Not quite so fat.

the fact that beauregard is so fat is the main reason why he was moved from series 6 to series 7 when patrol bear fozzie was added to series 6.

Frankly, Ga`dy, you needn`t to worry so much about "your prototype". I liked him definitely when looked at him in profile! Upon my word. It makes him more lovable. And looking at the pic from the show, I couldn`t help but scratched head and rolled eyes - "did they sit him on a diet???" As if he was squeezed between the doors! So dun`worry! The fatter the better!

Beuregard was not fat (looooong pauuuuuuse) compared to Miss Piggy that is.
