Because I don't have enough projects on the go, these designs might be made into real puppets in the near future:

On a related note, does anybody here have any good tips on creating prop guns? Aside from making them out of wood or cardboard, I'd had the thought of creating a mold and doing some casting, so I could make a bunch, but that somewhat seems overkill if I'm only going to need to make one or two.

For prop guns, check out IndyMogul, which has a lot of good tutorials on making prop weapons.

I like those BSG puppet designs.

Mass Production Prop

You might want to build your own vacuum form. You can make replicas easily and the process if fairly simple. Check out Youtube for the process- that is how Storm Trooper costumes and other props are made.

Awesome links, thanks! Vacuum-forming seems pretty straightforward and cheap, I'll definitely give it a try.

I think I'll model the Galactica pistol in styrofoam, then attempt making copies of it using Vacuum-forming. Very excited to give it a shot (but I have some of the puppets to build first!).
