Speaking of Louise, was it you who mentioned a while back that you met her at the stage door of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? I would have loved to have met her but missed out. As she is in Mary Poppins now, im wondering if I might be able to see her there, it would be a huge bonus of the trip.

It sure is annoying. They should hire professional puppeteers. Louise Gold might have been a good choice because of her experience. I'm not a fan of actors much but atleast theatre actors arent as bad as film actors like Tom Cruise etc.

I'm still looking forward to seeing the show when I come to London in September though.

Why don't you like actors?

it not a like or dislike of actors, its that Puppeteers are rarely considered or even auditioned,

the producers would rather cast for type (ie peopel look like the original cast members)and vocal range rather than people with skills in puppetry and vocal range ,

and trust me, having skills as a puppeteer realy do make or break the performances, i know they train them, but it takes years of work to becoame a great puppeteer, and a show like that really needs them

Yes, I've met Louise a few times and I'm sure she wouldn't object to a curteous fan at the stage door of the Prince Edward. If you have time do try and see Mary Poppins, it really is a great show, and much truer to the books than the Disney film.

I'll definately try to see the show, it looks great from the videos ive seen of it on the site. And I'll try my best to meet Louise if I can. I'm not the usually the type of person who goes up to well known people if I see them when im out and ive never been to the stage door before of any show but have always wanted to so will give it a try if I can.

First preview is this evening (1st June)...tickets for the next few weeks are very reasonable price wise, as to the show however...

Just been to the first preview. This show is superb and the full house greatly appreciated it, giving it a standing ovation. The puppetry was excellent (surprisingly so, having seen some of the later Broadway performances) - all credit to Nigel Plaskitt for this. If you get a chance, see it! It is different to the Broadway/Las Vegas shows, with some changed lyrics/script and a slightly anglicised set...

I was sitting next to Cameron Macintosh and he seemed very happy with what could have been a rather expensive mistake for him.

Unfair to review it properly at this stage...there are still 3 weeks of previews, but I for one thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sounds great! I can't wait to see it. Was Anne Harada from the original production in the show? I've heard she is in it but wasnt sure if she might not be arriving until the official opening.

Lucky you to be sitting next to cameron mackintosh, you must have had good seats. Do you know him?

Yes Anne is in it, and was excellent. No, was pure chance that we were sitting there. We walked past the theatre and thought would see if there were any seats left and we got the last two.
