These are not CD releases, they are action figures.
Exactly. And when you compare Palisades release/shelf dates to other toy lines out there, they actually do a great job...I haven't seen a new Star Wars figure on the shelf in Salt Lake City since December...although they've "released" over 20 figures in the last seven months.

:sympathy:

I'm glad Target picked up the line at all. I've picked up Series 4 elsewhere already, but I will be getting some "extra" rats and pigs there when they finally surface.

Hopefully this might help. I went into my local Target today and noticed a lot of boxes being opened around the store. What I also noticed was that the school stuff was already going up. I asked to talk to one of the supervisors and she informed me that they were in the middle of resetting everything now. She also said it would only be a week or so on the new toys.

Matleo does have a point. It isn't great that most places have S4 now and you can't choose to just walk into a Target and pick up the same thing, it does have other advantages like i said. It seems wierd that the action figure industry can't provide exact release dates for their figures - they may not be CD's but CD's have to be pressed and printed like any action figure has to be produced and boxed - in todays world there shouldn't be a big difference but it seems there is. There's usually only a few weeks delay in the UK for the smaller comic stores getting things in and the bigger retailers stocking them - i'm talking things like Lord Of The Rings, Spiderman and Incredible Hulk there.

I really wish Palisades would do something about their international distribution - it's just so rubbish. Their distributor is the same one thats well known for just stocking stuff at the smaller comic stores and web retailers - these toys need a push with the big retailers but i think because the company (GEAR4GAMES) have so many other toy lines and don't really have a big personal interest theres not much effort. It'd be great to see these stocked in TRU in the UK (like the canadian one does) or Woolworths who are very big on action figures here - they've been taking the McFarlane stuff and sell the non-interactive Simpsons on a small scale so i don't see why there couldn't be some Muppets there. Is it not possible for Palisades to do the UK distribution themselves from the states somehow or change to another distributor? This is mad - the UK is a huge market for the Muppets, almost on par with the USA and they only get the edge becuase it's a much larger country yet the UK is being treated the same as Australia, Canada, Outer Mongolia etc. So many sales opportunities are being lost yet distributors like Vivid Imaginations in the UK put these kinda products in the big stores.

that is good news. Maybe in another week or so, I'll stop by one of my local target's and see what I can find out.

Okay, so I'm over here while the Palisades board is down, and was looking around and saw this. I realized that there's something that I don't think has ever been said, but needs to be.

Yes, we cannot get series 4 at Target right now. We have to wait for the store set. HOWEVER, I think a lot of folks are expecting that to be the case with future assortments too, and that should NOT be the case. The reason we're waiting now, is because Target has company-wide "store-sets", and they haven't had a new one yet. Once that store set is done, however, the Muppets have shelf-space. Series 5, series 6, however many series Target decides to keep stocking them, will already have a pre-determined space, and so can go right out. That's why Palisades worked so hard to make the PiS box the same size as the Chef. So it would stay in that "planned" area.

Just an observation...I really don't think it's been brought up before.

I just talked to my local Target and they will be resetting their toy section on August 3rd! Which, if you really think about it, is not that bad.

Just remember how long we had to wait for Series 1!! Compared to that, this is a piece of cake!

That is a good point Grail. I thought a resetting was the same as a restocking. But the way you explain it makes sense to me. They have to make room for them so it makes perfect sense. I just hope that They sell out before series 5 hits because with series 5 comes more Koozebane Kermits, and the last thing we need is to have series 4 stuck on the shelfs when series 5 comes in. Hopefully early August is soon enough to sell out the figures. Of course it all depends on how many the stores ordered and so on.
