But, the one I buy from is rather small.
again though, i don't know if this is all small EB games stores, i mean we have heard a lot about figures not showing up at all in "some" EB stores all over.
just Becareful because some stores will let you put down money on the figures and they won't ever come into the store, that was my problem with series one and i had to call the district manager, that is what he told me about the figures and then he shipped a special shippment to the store just for me, but there will be no more from now on in that store.

And most offen the people in the store have no idea, it's best to talk to the manager of that store just to be sure.

I would say it's more likey that a non mall store, meaning a store on it's own will have a better chance of have the figures then the mall shops, at least that's how it is in my area.

... I think the Muppets need an original movie and they need to bring the focus back onto Kermit, Fozzie, and Piggy... AVMMC was a very good special and to say that Whoopi as god is inaproprate is stupid, sorry but it is. Who would you like to be god? George Burns is the only one who can play him because he's an old white guy? I saw nothing wrong with Whoopi as god. And to say it was inappropriate for kids is nuts! A few inuendos is nothing compared to some commercials that run on TV. The inuendos were not that obvious where a kid would think sex. You would only get it if you knew it was a inuendo. Heck, kids don't even know what the word means! I say if the child gets the joke then they are old enough to get the joke, end of story.

And does ANYONE remeber the muppet show? There were many sexual scenes in many shows. Raqel Welch for one. She said Fozzie was sexy, she was introduced as a sex symbol, and those outfits were very revealing. AVMMC was shown during prime time and hence for an adult audience. I for one loved it and am glad to see some new work from the muppets.
I have to completely agree with you here (left out the bit that MFS was good though LOL). God isn't a man or woman - not really a "He" in the traditional sense. It was a joke and none of the religious people I know had a hard time with it. Just seems like a slight against black women to say that that part was inappropriate. Probably wasn't meant that way, but I think Whoopi really toned it down and was respectful. I loved it. Anything humorous will miff somebody. That's the nature of comedy.

Anyway, the Muppets need a good TV program and use it as a springboard to a film. I that lesson has been learned. The Muppets are primarily TV figures, though they've made some great films. When (if) the Fox show launches, I hope they make it smart like the Christmas special - but with more songs and more joy in it. Honestly, I think some fans confuse the Muppet Babies with the Muppet Show characters. The Muppets pushed the envelope in their hayday. The only thing that changed with the Chirstmas special was the envelope. The Muppets were pretty much the same (as in the 70/80s) to me.

With a popular show/project, the line will get a big push. Otherwise they are nostalgia. That's what nostaligia is - product icons without a current project.

I'm no prude- I've seen "The War Zone" and "Romance" in their unedited editions. This is the Muppets.
I'm happy the movie made you happy, but 10 years from now... AVMMCM will be an obscurity, while The Muppet Movie will still be beloved.
I didn't find a need for "God" in this sort of Muppet film, be it Whoopi or Regis Philbin. I won't get into it, but to say that even though she portrayed God in a generic sense, it was offensive to certain religious people.
I don't buy the "The Muppet Show was racy" excuse. On a screen by screen comparison, nothing from The Muppet Show (I've got the Raquel Welch dvd) blasphemed the Muppets as noticeably as IAVMMCM. The Muppets Tonite episode with Piggy sneeze-orgasming at the table with Billy Crystal might be an argument on your side though.
Perhaps the reason that the borderline material in the Christmas movie stood out to so many people is that there was not much else to justify it. It was a weak storyline, missing Henson's Muppet magic.
But don't worry- I'm right on the drawing board for BOLLYWOOD MUPPETS! Making my contacts as we speak. As Luke said, Miss Piggy in a swari ...with a dot between her eyes- arriving on an elephant with a crystal waterfall behind her and shirtless green frogs singing, hopping, and dancing, all around her.

It was a TV special. It wasn't supposed be anywhere near Muppet Movie territory. None of the Muppet films are as good as that classic.

I don't find anything blasphemous about Whoopi as God. I think 95% of the country would agree. It was a brief joke and made for a sweet ending. Anyway, you obviously didn't like it and I'm sorry about that. On the good side - there won't be a Whoopi as God action figure.

What about Alice Cooper claiming to have sold his soul to Satan and then Gonzo and Piggy start to think about doing the same?

You've seen a big EB Games?

What about Alice Cooper claiming to have sold his soul to Satan and then Gonzo and Piggy start to think about doing the same?
Wow! That'd be great! Hilarious! Man, the Muppets need more o' this good ol' humor!

IAVMMCM was an excellent movie! One of the funiest Muppet productions in years. Come on! It's the Muppets! Not Barney! Not everything has to be PC! And what's wrong with God being in the movie? Okay, we're not technically supposed to see God, but, it was funny! That's what the Muppets are! A comedy! Also, The Muppet Show, if I remember correctly, had quite frequent appearances by devils and ghosts! If IAVMMCM were so terrible, than why do you celebrate Christmas? Or Halloween? So you can worship the Devil? That's what Halloween is, and Christmas is so screwed up! Personally, IAVMMCM was not all that bad. did you ever here the way Gonzo talks to Camila? Some of the things he says, all that inuendo. Come on!

You do know that this actually happened on the show, correct? It was implied that Alice was an agent of the devil and tried to get the Muppets to sell their souls. Pretty dark humor for the Muppets.

I don't know if this is what you ment so not to put words in your mouth, but Halloween isn't about worshiping the devil, it's not really about dressing up in a costume and go trick or treating either, i mean that's not what started it. I know i'm not 100% right but i thought it had to deal with the day of the dead which is celebrated by spanish people who look back at the loss of their loved one's showing they will always be rememeber, only it's like a big celebration, "not that they are dead" but a look back at there live's and how much they are loved and missed.

there more to this though, but if i go in to detail's i'll never come out of it.;-)

Zack)Rowlf the, i just keep going, and going, and going, and going, and...Dog

I agree with Petrieboy to some extent - while i don't have any problems with the religious side of it, i also didn't find a need for any 'God'. I have mixed opinions of the Xmas movie - for the 45 minutes of actual footage containing the Muppets, it was great, classic stuff which i felt they needed to expand more. The other non-Muppet parts (Whoopi etc) which were shot totally independant of the Muppets and just edited in were i thought boring, uneccasary and a waste of time. Some would argue they were there to fill in the storyline but i think the storyline was so weak they were basically there as an excuse for celebrity cameos and NBC plugs. NBC paid for it all and screened it so obviously it was neccasary in a political sense but i also think it meant a lot of wasted opportunities for the Muppets. Overall i think it was more a sneak preview of whats to come once they get an independant show of their own rather than the grand triumphant return - if it would have been a REAL full length actual Muppet movie containing them throughout and bringing back all the characters i think it would have been 500% better - but then thats to come and i'm more than sure the Fox shows will go on to show us that .... i guess unless they change the forumla yet again before we get to that.

Dang, I hate being "that girl"... but can I drop a subtle reminder that the title of this thread is, "Ask Ken".
Perhaps theological, and modern muppet movie discussions can be moved to a different thread?
