Ken-

Very interesting development. Why and when did the Janice include for the Vet's playset get nixed? I thought that was a popular idea. I really (or "rully") love the penguin patient though, but wouldn't that make the set less popular with the consumer? I'll buy it either way, however, it would be great to hear the story behind all of this.

My chart will be updated Monday.

Extreme wish list, huh? That's a far cry form the other board when you said you needed more convincing. what finally changed your mind? And yes, is it too much to ask what the other two on your wish list are (although I have a pretty good idea. there are two other ideas I've heard you kick around a few times, but I'm curious).

Hey Ken,

Just wanted to say thank you again for these great figs. It wasa great excuse for me to get out of the house and going shopping (which is a really really bad thing). I drooled over the American McGee Alice in Wonderland figs (had I seen the catipiller I would have had it), as well as the KORN action figures, and the Dark Crystal dolls (which I think are absolutly ugly, what does everyone else think).

As a side note, Suncoast had most of the WOS simpsons stuff on clearance at 50% off, along with a bunch of Nightmare Before Christmas toys!!!! They also had your Res. Dogs figures on clearance (hope this isn't bad news)!

So on to a question: What (besides the Muppets) are your three favorite action figure lines out right now?

I have my money on Piggy for the Vet's playset. It just makes sense in so many ways. With the penguin my idea was not for it to come with the playset itself, but with a Vet's Hospital fig in the regular assoertment. The penguin could even come with a small removable soft PVC (60 durometer,[Ken- did I get that right?]) patient gown.

I haven't gone back to check, but has anyone suggested bunny rabbits coming with the vet's hospital playset? I think it would be an awsome idea

This is going to make me super duper unpopular, but here goes.....

Since so many people are already complaining about the cost of the playsets, (heck some folks don't even want the the Electric Mayhem, and are planning on the San Diego Animal to complete their collection), and an equal number are just buying them too look at them.
I do not think Nurse Piggy is a strong enough character to sell this. She will (as I understand it) be the with the Pigs In Space set. So this would make this (at least) the 4th Miss Piggy (Wave One, EB Exciusive, Pig In Space being the first three).
I just do not see another Miss Piggy Variant as being a strong enough character to get people to buy the set.
Please, I am not trying to start a flame war, I think the Nurse Piggy is a good idea, and if you carded it by itself, it would be one of the hottest sellers. Since she is so recognizable, folks would un-doubtedly buy her as a gift for their relatives in the Medical profession. But not the $25.00 set.
There is a company claaed FUNKO (WWW.FUNKO.COM) they make wacky wobblers, like the ones from the 50s. They recently did a Pez Doctor and a Nurse, and those two completely sold out before they even received them at the distribution warehouse!

If it were up to me, I would make Janice or a penguin patient along with an 'anything muppet' patients with the set. Or you could do a patient version of one of the characters there is no variant of as yet.
Or you could do the disembodied voice? Some sort of an inexpensive michrophone that distorts the players voice "Tune in next week, when you'll here Dr. Bob Say"....

Piggy is the slowest selling figure in the first series. I think the Swine Trek playset will sell no matter who is packed with it, since the Star Wars and Star Trek collectors (are there still Star Trek collectors?) will buy it.

Again I am not trying to start a flame war, I will buy one of everything regardless of who is with it.
I am just offering my opinions, and as we all know "Opinions are like feet. everybody's got them, and most of them stink."

What would be funnee here would be if there were a lever to smack and bunnies go flying everywhere!

Actually, for like a dollar at some hobby stores, there are little packets of white bunnies (and blue and pink and green) that you can buy.

I'm thinking that Dr. Bob would go good in the vet's playset since he's rather popular, and was the central character for Vets'. Janice and Piggy could come seperate. I'd like the penguin patient in the playset, the stretcher with Janice, and the oxygen machine with a real elastic band to strap it to Piggy's face. That ep killed me! I thought she was so funnee in that opening shot with that oxygen mask.

I think the best character to go with the Vets hospital would be Rowlf, i mean i always thought it would come with him, i mean you get your vet's hospital with your Doctor and then you can buy your nurses seperatley if you want.

Another thing that i think would be great would be (I got this idea from Zack, i think it was him  ) Anyway I'd love to see A kermit on a wheel chair, but as it is pointed out by Ken these figures can't sit so maybe crachets would be better.

Apart from Kermit what other main recognized muppet has been a patient there?

And...

we're getting tux Kermit, Rowlf & Gonzo (And we have a planned Tux Fozzie) How cool would a Tux Bunsen & Beaker & Scooter be And Animal in a broken tux, I have no idea why i'm so into tuxes..

Ken what do you think about a Gonzo on Bike with the ramp, i know all that would fit witha normal figure and a playset might be a waste in my opinion, unless it comes with a ramp, gonzo & a Bike & Piggy and a Bike (from the I get around number)

The playset wouldn't be much but the characters and accesories would make up for it, wouldn't it?

That's all from me for now.

later

Why are so many people afraid of starting flame wars here ? Jeez - if you have an opinion, just come out and say it. There is no need to apologise for what you say, if you truly believe it. I'd also hope people are a bit more intelligent to start any kind of 'flame war' over someones opinions on action figures.

You can speak freely here without fear of repurcusions - but if anyone mentions my night of passion with a Boston Penguin Trainer i'll see you in court ! ;-)
