Are the episodes in chronological order?

I was watching TMS Season 1 DVD set and it seem to me that the episodes were out of order because Scooter shows up in the first episode and then a couple of episode later he's introduced and acts like it his first time on the show and he is asking for a job.

The episodes are arranged in the order that they were produced and not necessarily meant to air.

What's the chronological order? I would much rather watch them like that.. Even if I have to jump around.. Any one know the order?

The broadcast order varies according to where they were aired. The order the UK aired the shows is not the same as the order New York aired them, which is not the order LA aired them, and so on.

Basically, there is no 'correct' order. Typically, a new season would open with a 'big name' guest star in order to draw the audiences (eg George Burns for Season 2, Raquel Welch for Season 3, Roger Moore for Season 5).

The episode guide has tx dates for 22 of the Season 1 shows, if that helps.

tx dates?

Well, does it actually matter what order you watch them in?

Nope. Not really, it's no tlike a soap opera or anything, where it really matters.

OK, a few things.
1 To answer the original question of this thread... Scooter appeared in the first episode guest starring Juliette Prowst, and then in the Jim Neighbors episode as if he were appearing for the first time. Well, this is how they made the show, a bit inconsistant if not confusing, but true.

2 Though there may have been different airing orders, it's generally aggreed upon that there's a numeric order for the episodes.

Season 1 Episodic Numeric Order.
1 Juliette Prowst.
2 Connie Stevens with Bert and Ernie.
3 Joel Gray.
4 Ruth Buzzi (who later became part of the SS family.)
5 Rita Moreno.
6 Jim Neighbors.
7 Florence Henderson.
8 Andy Williams.
9 Charles Aznivor.
10 Harvey Coreman.
11 Lena Horn.
12 Peter Ustinov.
13 Bruce Forsyth.
14 Sandy Duncan.
15 Candace Berghan.
16 Avery Schreiber.
17 Ben Vereen.
18 Phyllis Diller.
19 Vincent Price, featuring Uncle Deadly.
20 Ethel Merman.
21 Twiggy.
22 Valerie Harper.
23 Kaye Ballard.
24 Mummenschanz.
Hope this helps and enjoy the show!
