Yeah, overall I thought last night's show was a little dull. I'm worried about La Toya (my fave), since I agreed that her first song choice was a little boring. I think it's Jasmine's week to go, though. The only thing is that Simon needs to be careful about telling people they're going to be voted off (if he does think they should be)--it usually causes a huge turnout among their fans.

I saw Clay on Leno too, and he was great. He did seem to be going for the old-school-Clay look with the glasses, though--I was surprised.

Yeah, when I saw him I was like, "Wow, there'e something really different about him..." Took me a second to realize what it was. As a lifelong glasses-wearer, I approve.

I thought last night was a little dull...like they all weren't trying. But mainly I think it was bad song selection. I was really excited for disco night but most of those songs I had never heard of.

Now about Leno appearances...I didn't see Clay, because unfortunately Erin, I can't stand him :embarrassed: but my Paula was on there the night before with the other judges and she was SOOOOO pretty! :flirt: The only thing I didn't like was that Jay said they were going to show a tribute to Paula, and she seemed really surprised and happy about that and then it turned out to be scary drag queens dancing to her music. She seemed kind of bummed out that it wasn't something serious. I know I was.

Yeah, I'd only heard of a couple of the songs they did too. I think two were repeats from last year; Clay did "Everlasting Love" and Kim Locke did "It's Raining Men." That's kind of a bummer about Paula, but then you can't expect too much out of a late-night host. Clay's been on Leno a couple times, and both times he had a really nice interview. When he was on Letterman he just sang. :frown: I would've liked to see what Dave would've had to say to him...

Well, last night was a bit of a surprise, wasn't it? I was pretty disappointed; Latoya was my favorite. A Fantasia/Latoya showdown would've been great. Now if it comes down to Diana and Jasmine, that's going to be a major bummer... This season is just all screwed up. I mean, I think both girls are fine, but they're not in the same league as Fantasia and Latoya.

On another note, what was up with Donna Summer singing "McArthur Park"??? Actually, I enjoyed it, but I just thought it was really weird. One of the strangest songs ever written... Even Jimmy Webb has said he doesn't really know what it means. I was surprised when I found out he wrote it, and I little disturbed, but then I thought it was cool because he always writes songs that Art Garfunkel sings, while this one was sung by Richard Harris, who played Arthur in "Camelot." I guess he's just all about the Arthurs! I think that Weird Al's parody, "Jurassic Park," makes a lot more sense. And of course, I loved Clay being back. :flirt: And he was sporting that same cool-geek hybrid look he had on Leno. Veeeeery groovy. I wonder where that new song came from. I missed some of what he said; is he working on a new album? Or maybe it's just one he's doing for the tour. And did I hear something about him doing a Christmas album? That would be AWESOME. I loooove Christmas albums. I really hope he sings "O Holy Night." :flirt:

I didn't watch last night's show, but I found out this morning that LaToya is gone. I'm shocked! I saw the 2nd song she sang on Tuesday, and I thought it was her best yet. I voted for her.

Man, I missed Donna Summer singing "McArthur Park"? That would have been something to see. That song has always cracked me up. "Oh noooooo!" :stick_out_tongue:

I wrote to Leno's show and voiced my opinion that Paula should be invited back and a REAL tribute should be done...

Now about Idol.......Erin, you are right! This season is all messed up! How is it possible that the two best AGAIN were in the bottom two?!!! I just don't think the finale will be as nail biting as it could've been between LaToya and Fantasia.

I was surprised by how emotional Paula was over the whole thing! It made me sad to see her cry  . I think she gets too involved with the kids and especially the ones that kick butt like LaToya did.

I agree, Paula does seem to get really emotionally involved. It looked to me like Randy was crying too, though! That surprised me. But yeah, the finale definitely won't be as interesting now.

Paula said on various talk shows that Randy and Simon were playing around by putting water on their faces to make it look like they were crying....they are so mean to her!

So, it looks like Dianna and Fantasia are the final two. That results show last night was about 55 minutes TOO LONG!!! We don't need to see the Australian Idol nor does Tamyra need to sing two songs. I would be happy if the results show was just like a five minute commercial.

I can't decide if I want Fantasia to win or not. She will do awesome either way but just having the title would be cool. I really can't stand Dianna all though she is a good singer - no LaToya - but still a good singer.
