y'know superfan, I'm not far behind you. I absolutely DESPISE make up. Considering my mom used to be a hairstylist, I've sort of been forced into the hair product thing, but if anyone thinks I'll ever straighten my hair without someone tying me down and doing it themselves, they've got another thing coming to them! I've also been forced into the purse... on a short term basis... haven't touched it since before school started, hallelujah. And, ok, so I had Dirty Dancing memorized at age five... but I have no intention to ever see its sequel, and I've never seen Top Gun. Oh, and very little in this world is more torturous than shoe shopping.

Yay! Thanks for responding, TogetherAgain! What the HE** is the point of mascara...?! It's not like people come up and say, "Gosh, your eyelashes look great today!" And you have curly hair? Sweet. Keep it that way. So many people who have straight want it curly and vice versa.
Glad to know you're confident enough to maintain your individuality!

Who gets out of their bed by 11 am or later? That's a sign of laziness to me.

-I get up 7:30 to 8 in the morning, especially weekends
-At the gym I run 8 miles on the treadmill, 4 days a week
-I don't like salad
-I'm taking classes to be a teacher! Yikes!
-Haven't had a girlfriend in over 5 years
-Listens to music from the 50s through 80s, with a little 90s music and music from today thrown in
-I don't eat fast food
-I eat vegetables every day from green beans to brocolli

*I have no choice to get out of bed early. My daughter is in the kitchen at 730 "Mommy! I want breakfast!!". If not that, than I'm walking to work no later than 730.
*Good for you on the treadmill! By far my favorite cardio machine workout!
We have a stairclimber here at home.
*I don't like salad either, but force myself to eat it.
*No girlfriend in 5 years? That's okay, really. From my married side of the fence, enjoy your independence!!!!!!!!!!
*I listen to music from those years as well. You can sing along to almost everything! And early 90's music is awesome!
*Oh, you're smart about the fast food.
*Broccoli rules! Yay Vitamin D!

ryhoyarbie, yay for vegetables. And I wake up really early during the week, but on weekend I get to sleep in.

Hey, what's wrong with purses? :attitude: A little accessorizing never killed anyone, eh? Naw. Purses are dead useful because otherwise I lose everything. But I absolutely despise shoe shopping.
But what's this whole maintaining your individuality thing you were talking about, superfan?

What some people think is wierd (not of the 'norm') contributes to one's individuality. That's why this whole thread was started! I could go on for a full page discussing the cycle of conformity breeds individuality breeds conformity, but let's just have fun with this. Enjoy what makes you unique. It can positively affect your self esteem and confidence.

I like purses on other people. I like the style of many of them. However, when I wear one, it's just not me at all!
I have a backpack. Much easier. Plus, I can put my daughter's stuff in it on extended errand runs.

Well I guess I could have had one in college, but I never did. The problem with me right now is, I'm out of college and taking those classes to be a teacher and right now I don't have a job. And I know to take a woman out, you need money. I just don't have that at thise time. But even if I had money my problem is, where do you go and find a girlfriend? I don't go to bars or clubs. Friends of mine are either engaged or married (that are women). So I have no diea where to meet someone if I had the money and a job.

I know...there comes a point when you stand back at a bar and realize the whole scene is just not what it used to be...! :stick_out_tongue:
The girl for you will come to you when you least expect it. When you're not conciously looking. Someone will notice how articulate and confident you are and well...hang in there. And as for the money thing...you can impress a lady with other things than what you spend on her.
Trust me. My best date was with a high school sweetheart in his K-car sitting in the mall parking lot eating Chicken Nuggets. He made a tape of songs that were relevent to our friendship and we talked til three in the morning. :flirt:
Hope that wasn't too preachy or cliche...
