I was never a fan of the term "hella" because I feel if you're going to curse and actually say the term anyway, you should have the guts to go for the gold and say it outright! Such a California term that was never adopted in my Texan vernacular. :stick_out_tongue:

I really don't speak like a Texan either. Many native Houstonians are the same way, but I'm the only one in my family that didn't develop the accent. :embarrassed:

I do say "y'all" and appreciate the eloquence of the southern term. It was "you guys" that sounded inferior to me when living in Manhattan for a year. Both are okay, I guess. I just prefer y'all.
*an added note - contrary to some belief there is no "y’allzes" in any part of Texas I've traveled.

Lol, something must be wrong with me, because I'm southern, yet I never say "y'all", that sounds more like what a STEREOTYPICAL southern would say.

Yeah! I never really used they term at all either. It's just not in me and I usually try to avoid saying it anyway. I just can't bring myself to using it when talking to people. It's like the term 'What's up?" I just have always just said "hello.":smirk:

I don't mind some abreviations. And I think chat speak is fine. It doesn't bother me. But I don't tend to use lol or rofl and stuff becasue well. To be honest, when most people say lol or rofl I bet there not acutally laughing out loud or rolling on the floor laughing! But hey, Sometimes lol is perfectly true.
