You already know exactly what I think about this (for those of you who don't, it includes a lot of "MMMMMMMM!"'s and "*GRINS!*" and "OHHHHHH!"'s), but I'll reiterate...

MMMMMMMMM! *GRINS!* OHHHHHH!

Anyway... you're a deliciously evil half, half and if you weren't such a DARN good writer I wouldn't be able to read this without bawling. But I think I've developed a tolerance to it after... what? Four, five years of it? No matter what, though, I'll never be able to get past how incredible this is and how well you know these characters and how you can put KERMIT THE FROG in the middle of a war and still make it believable. Your talent knows no bounds (except maybe grand opera) and once you toss in my patented humor we'll be golden.

EXCELLENT chapter, Lisa! It's so weird to be responding to something you actually posted... but stranger things have happened. (Most of them on this forum!)

You totally can't see this, but I'm bawling! It's a good cry, but a cry none the less.

We've waited a while, and I can't count the number of times that I pictured what happened next but, as always, the way you capture it is wonderful. This update was more wonderful than I could have ever imagined!

Like I said this before, this last month or so has been really hard. Along with the most strenuous law school semester ever, I lost my Grandmother and I was really stressed out about finding summer legal work (which I did thankfully), but anyway, I haven't had the best of times lately. Reading these stories before I go to bed or when i can relax really cheers me up and I can't thank you and all the other wonderful writers for that. My one friend from law school actually gave me a cheer-up card and she put Muppet stickers in it and wrote little speech bubbles saying things and it just reminds me how much I love the fan fics.

I totally will review this whole chapter tomorrow when I'm not bawling and when I get at least some sleep

THANK YOU! Absolutely loved it, cannot wait until the next update!

Hey Lisa... *Pulls her into a firm friendly hug. Thank you for updating. For a moment, I thought all the great older fics had been abandoned, which would be the most miserably horrible obnoxiously terrible shame of all.

Just wanted to tell you that we <333 your stories and thank you for writing again. *Gives the Queen another quick hug.

I believe in little things...

I believe in MANY things, one of them being YOU and the ability to just pick up where this left off and the flow continues and it's still just beautiful and takes my breath away. You only get better each time you put pen to paper my dear. I hope this trend continues, would love to keep reading this one!

Here is my review as promised!

And I started working on it again.

Now, I don't have enough for a chapter yet... but I thought I would let you know that this one has migrated from the back burner to the front one.
Impressively persistent...hmm....I like that; I think that's one of the best descriptions of me ever. I enjoy being impressively persistent

Well, if THAT post made your day...
When I first saw this, My eyes went wider than a kid's in a candy store and I almost forgot to breathe..but when I looked down, nothing else was there yet. 2min and a F5 keystroke later...

"I'm glad we came," Kermit said quietly, staring out the plane window. Miss Piggy was next to him, holding his hand. Fozzie and Robin were across the aisle, getting surprisingly competitive with some game in a coloring book
UPDATE! Instead of reading where kermit and piggy listen to each other heart's in NYC, they're on a plane back..OMG it's NEW STORY! Then, I really did forget to breathe as I read down the screen...

"Who's idea was it, Piggy?" Kermit suddenly asked.

She turned to see that he was looking at her now. "Who's idea was what?"

He smiled faintly. "For you guys to play stalker," he said softly, mildly. He had intended to go to Sesame Street alone, and had been under the impression that he had done so until all the young faces had been too much and Fozzie had appeared at his side. When he had neared the breaking point again, Robin had suddenly been there, and the third time, Miss Piggy had come out of hiding. They'd all been keeping an eye on him the whole time.
I could totally see that.. Fozzie and Piggy hiding in the background secretly trying to protect Kermit from himself when the kids started coming Piggy's always been good at hiding around in the background at important times

The Muppets did not want January to end.

The first day of February would take their beloved frog away again. They really, really wanted January to take its time, stick around, stretch as long as possible...

Of course, it did nothing of the sort
It always seems to happen that way. You totally dread something and the time seems to go by twice as fast, but it makes the memories of those times that much more important

The breakfast table was very quiet that morning. Solemn. No one had much to say. Some stared down at their plates. Others held their heads high and stiff, trying to be supportive.
One thing you never think would happen at the boarding house...

Today was a special occasion—a grim one or not—so he was wearing his Frog Scout's uniform. He didn't think Uncle Kermit would want to be the only one in a uniform, anyway. He took a deep breath, stood up as straight as he could, and marched down the stairs.
Robin is so cute, always ready to stand side by side with his uncle kermit..double aww moment

When he was in the kitchen, he looked around until he saw Miss Piggy sitting at the table, stiff and a little pale. She hadn't slept.
Poor Piggy... probably up all night thinking about Kermit leaving

Locked inside his bedroom, Kermit silently stared out the window, hugging his banjo in his lap and listening to the painfully quiet house.

He had hoped there would be chaos this morning.

With a heavy sigh, he turned and looked at the five pictures hanging on his wall. He didn't see them, though. In his mind, he saw the solemn breakfast table, just as clearly as if he'd been in the kitchen.

His thumb ran across the banjo strings, for the sake of the action. He heard it with his heart more than his ears—and not just because he didn't have ears. Then he stood and crossed the room. "See you later, old friend," he said as he returned the instrument to its place in the corner.
LOVED this.... very potent. You could definitely picture the whole scene as if it was a movie (hmm, maybe it should be, lol) I loved how he held his banjo one last time before he had to go. After thinking about it for a bit I began hearing in my head "Don't want to leave, but we both know. Sometimes, it's better to go"

"Oh good," Kermit said. "I happen to believe in little things."
LOVED THIS!

Kermit promptly opened to the first page of the notebook and gulped. A picture of the front of The Muppet Theater stared back at him. On the next page, a picture of the stage, and on the next, a picture of the seats. "Guys..."

"Keep going," Scooter quietly prompted.

Kermit glanced at him and turned the page. "Oh..." He kept turning the pages. On every page, another Muppet smiled back up at him beside his or her signature, many of them with a brief, encouraging note. "Oh... Thanks, guys," he said, tearing his eyes away to look at the real Muppets, sitting at the table, watching him. There would be plenty of time to look at the book later. He pulled Scooter into a tight hug.
aww, a very nice gift for Kermit. I got something like this when I graduated college. My sorority gave me a sister book with messages and pics from everyone...definitely a wonderful memento and the thought put into it means more than anything

It was especially hard to leave her.
It's especially hard to read that he has to leave her...

"A locket?" He gave her a teasing smile, suspecting a trend in their gifts. "Do I have to look inside this one, too?"

"Not yet," she said softly, fastening the chain around his neck. "Not until you need it, Kermie. When you—" She met his eyes and pressed her hands against his shoulders. "When you question yourself, and who you are, Kermie, just..." She lifted the little locket and tucked it into his shirt, out of sight. "Just look into your heart of gold."

He held her gaze for a long moment, and then firmly pulled her into a kiss that no one dared to tease or comment on. He held her tight, burying his face against her neck. "Piggy."
The gold locket is very clever...I have an idea of what might be inside:wink:

I don't think I breathed the entire time I read it, my eyes just kept getting wider, tears were coming and at the same time I had a huge smile because my fave story had a new chapter!

Such a wonderful update....totally worth the wait. Hoping we won't have to wait too long until the next one but I know it will be great.

Thanks again for bringing this story back!

Hi Ho!
It's me, being impressively persistent again! Re-read the whole story with the new chapter and it's amazing how you can't even tell that so much time elapsed since the last update- the story still flows perfectly! That's really hard to do so definitely be proud of that.

So excited for another update...curious to see if there will be more on Kermit leaving or if the story goes straight into kermit working on the news station.

Hello Again!
Spent last night and part of today reading this story... still love it as much as I do even though I'm in a different part of the U.S. reading it. I probably love it even more because I'm in D.C. and yesterday I went to the American History Museum and saw the poser Kermit muppet that's on display there in the treasures of popular culture exhibit.

Poor Kermit..."don't wanna leave, but we both know, sometimes it's better to go" It's soo sad that he has to leave everyone again..but hopefully his second tour will be shorter because it won't take him long to sway the public to support the war and do his whole "change the world" thing like he always does.

Desperately awaiting an update as always....being impressively persistent as always. Please update soon!

Ah, to be nagged...

Noticing this latest post was the second part of a much needed "good morning!" after a sleepless (yet restful?) night. So thank ye for the prod, m'dear. My minds have been wandering through a few different tales lately. I'll try to make sure this one stays in the shuffle.
