I'd also be interested in adding Rizzo to my collection of replica Muppets!
If anyone happened to download those patterns before they expired, I'd really appreciate a repost :)
Thanks man! I've still got some further refining to do... might get some softer foam and attempt a second version with a couple corrections.
I'm definitely considering, once I've worked out all the kinks, making a PDF version of the patterns available to purchase. No idea what I'd charge for it...
Thanks Dylan!
Yeah she’s coming along slowly but surely. Gave her a temporary skin made of polar fleece before I start buying and cutting any nylon fleece.
Think I need to alter the foam pattern to give her a slightly more open and expressive mouth, but shape-wise overall I’m pretty happy.
My first puppet build of 2020 is an ambitious one that I've been wanting to attempt for ages now -- Miss Piggy!
I'm tackling the biggest issue first.... Piggy's head. As I don't have access to foam latex, or even a big enough oven to cook a full size head, my Piggy is going to be a fleece...
Plastic to fabric? I'd suggest using hotglue. Preferably on the inside of the puppet instead of outside where it could look quite messy. Perhaps make a small hole and feed the slinky inside, then glue from the inside.
I think your puppet building is pretty **** good. I like the character designs, but I think the finish need as little tidying up here and there. Generally really nice puppets though.
As for the performance, it feels rather rigid. You might wanna try animating your characters more, making them...
There was a video taken of Stan interviewing Kermit at the con, so hopefully I'll be able to share that soon too. Definitely one of the coolest moments of my life. Getting this photo framed as soon as I can. :P
looking really nice so far, eye... well done
i'm worried that the collar and pupils look a little too large
but on the whole this is a fantastic first build, you got the face shape down very nicely
Kermit's natural head shape is simply centred around the shape of the puppeteer's hand. When I puppeteer my Kermit, I raise my middle finger slightly to create that peaked centre. Photo puppets tend to have some foam or stuffing in there, as there's no hand inside, so typically publicity photos...
Foam latex is notoriously difficult to setup for use. You need an oven to cure it, and the fumes from cooking are pretty toxic, so if you absolutely have to use your kitchen oven, you're gonna need all the windows open, and you'll wanna clean it heavily after every use.
That said, I've seen a...
