Howdy howdy, folks! Though I've not posted much, like the rest of you, I've been very much caught up in the excitement of the new Muppet film. After seeing it twice on opening day, I decided that I had to add Walter to my small collection of Muppet replicas. I've been interested in creating a human type character based on Kermit's design for a while, and given that Walter is exactly that, it seemed like a good project to try.

As it were, I haven't yet started on the real puppet. I don't really have the time or resources to do so right now. But I did scrounge up what I needed to create a mock-up of his head. Everything is just glued instead of sewn, hence the whacked out seam running down his face. I was just focused on the likeness. That way I can nail down the details now and only have to build the real puppet once. (Unlike a certain frog I've created...)

Here's some pics of the proto-Walter head:

There's a few adjustments I'm going to make for the final puppet, mostly regarding his eyes and placement, but overall I'm quite pleased with Proto-Walter! Now I just have to wait about a month till I can create the real deal, complete with blue suit...

Thanks! I'm glad you all like him so far! He's made from a slight alteration from the pattern I created for my Kermit replica. It's literally just Kermit's head repurposed for a round mouth as opposed to a pointy one. There's also a piece of foam in the head since Walter's head has a bit more of a defined shape than Kermit's. The real Walter has a little more forehead than my replica, but I plan to address that on the final puppet.

Yours really isnt that bad.It is quite good, apart from a twinge needed on your Walter eyes.I think you know now, after seeing this Walter's eyes, what I am getting at about the shape of your eye base and angle.
