    CGI Overusage?

Actually, more CGI would have helped Underdog. Or better yet, just make the whole movie CGI. The big mistake in that film was taking an anthropomorph and making it an animal with human characteristics on top of animal ones. Same problem with Inspector gadget (Brain being a real Dog, and a CGI...

In what universe are today's kids' shows too "sugarcoated"?

Yeah. i heard that (as well as censorship laws) are killing the Children's Tv market over there. I will say, at least your ban on advertising had good intentions. ours was a blinder for a bill to let media conglomerates buy up networks. And yet, no one ever says anything in response to the...

Disney Channel Preps for Muppet "Mini Movies"

And we are all aware that Nick screwed John K to the wall. Even when they tried to make nice with the new series, they just couldn't pull it together. I do say, I would have loved to see an Adult version of the Zim cartoon show, but it was dark for a kids show. I'm surprised it lasted that...

In what universe are today's kids' shows too "sugarcoated"?

Preschool shows are the worst. They all seem to follow the same model as Blues Clues. The Loud and slow speak and interactivity. I mean, is that beneficial? I doubt it. Look at Muppet babies. Clearly that was meant for younger audiences, but they were treated as a younger audience, not...

The Golden Compass Thread (Spoilers ahead!)

To be fair, that's because a lot of Christian groups rarely put themselves in a good light. And these groups are way more political than religious. Religion can be a good thing, and bring hope to a community in times of crisis... and then of course, you get to the negative side which scares...

    Sesame Street TV References

Simpsons 11/25/07 Funeral for a Fiend In this episode, Moe buys, and then accidentally destroys a Plasma screen TV. He then says, "oh well, at least I can still watch DVD's on family vacations." He chases the Hibbert's car/ "Big Bird in China? Won't Grover be Loneyly? No! He's with...

    Thundercats voice artists

Oh yeah. Seth is a big 1980's cartoon fan. hense all the G.I. Joe and Transformers references.

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

Way off topic, but wait'll I get into Japan's very odd nudity in broadcasting laws sometime. Anyway, this topic has actually popped up in other webboards. Not kidding. And it all seems that everyone's taking this far too literally. I mean, they were trying to pass some B.S. that they...

The World According to Sesame Street

It's a very heart wrenching experiance. It basically does the same as the Peyo/Unicef ad that has bombs going off in the Smurf village. It says that there are kids living in these terrible situations, be they forced into poverty by their corrupt governments, or they're forced into violence and...

Anybody remember Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa?

I never could get into it. However, did you know that it was created by a close personal friend of the TMNT creators? In fact, the COW boys had a breif cameo in the third episode of TMNT Fast Forward.

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

I think we're forgetting that they want to purge all media of any references to smoking. All the way up to PG 13 movies. What was it? All movies that now feature smoking will be rated R? That'll learn the big Tobbacco corporations.

    Thundercats voice artists

According to the Commentary on the movie "Stewie Griffin: The untold Story" the voices of Lion-o and Cheetara both reprised their roles for a cutscene. However, the voice of Snarf passed on, and Seth had to voice it himself.

Abby Cadabby Balloon in Macy's Thanksgiving parade

They had all the wrong cues, and they had the camera on the wrong characters singing... it was badly timed too. There was even an overly pixilated (like a broken DVD or digital tape) shot of Oscar that froze up. It was just... wow. Terribly bad taping.

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

Exactly the point. Those were times that weren't ruled by suburban Soccer Moms and other parents that either work 2 jobs or more to get big expesnive greedy things (as opposed to the parents that work 5 jobs and still have to be on food stamps due to the massive corporations paying Congress to...

    Repeating Lessons...

I'd like to see them tackle that again, myself. But learning the lesson from before, don't use a Muppet. Use a human kid. That way it won't seem as heavy as it should.

Abby Cadabby Balloon in Macy's Thanksgiving parade

You noticed that too? When a balloon breaks on it's first outing that's never a good sign. Looks like it can be repaired easily, it just popped out of a socket, but that's about it. I'm absolutely thrilled Disney was able to support the Kermit Balloon. And am I the only one who thinks...

    Sesame Street -NY Original Airing

I like how they were able to do that at the beginning. Not competing for a hard time slot with a hard success is one way to get noticed, and to get a nice long TV airlife. Unfortunately, with all these other (frankly terrible) options, SS has to compete with pop shows that aren't half as...

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

Actually... I always thought that Cookie embodied Jim Henson's bizzare sense of humor where monsters constantly eat things. Cookie Monster to me was a character embodiment of Jim's Earlier work. I still think that a couple songs don't change that. I'd love to see him go back to eating...

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

Not touching the other issue you mentioned, but I never heard kids being "encouraged" to swear. Certain kids pick it up from their parents, and they think it's funny, and make crude jokes as soon as they hit 3rd Grade. I needn't get into the AIDS jokes kids were telling when I was young...

    Repeating Lessons...

Did I ever tell you about a Japanese series called Doraemon? The show's been on since 79. In current seasons, they just reused the storylines from 70's and 80's episodes. Why shouldn't Sesame Street do the same thing, since it was on since 69? Only difference, Doraemon pretty much reenacted...
