Can Sesame Street go to Congress?

I can't even edit that down to put up a single point. The NPR debacle came out of someone putting a vendetta sting, making a FAKE organization and sliming their way to enemy headquarters. And guess what, reports are surfacing that the same fake organization tried to sneak into PBS... but they...

Can Sesame Street go to Congress?

They want to think that the big bad left is always conspiring against them to bend the poorest of the poor to their will. I mentioned this in another thread. Now, here's what bugs me.. if someone on the left says something outrageous with 2% of truth to it, they get fired and vilified. if...

Can Sesame Street go to Congress?

Bump: NPR's being completely and utterly vilified because some sleazebag undercover Neo-con reporter caught an exec bad mouthing the Pitty party. Now he's starting to circulate a petition to COMPLETELY end funding for PBS. Yeah, those guys do not at ALL want to control the media, all the...

    Peanuts becomes graphic novel

That's exactly the problem... they are duty bound NEVER to create new stories or new media, and everything from specials to kids books needs to be based off of strips that existed. This causes the TV specials to be a little staggered, though... but it also prevents very bad artists and writers...

    Misinforming Superfoods?

I have a STRONG feeling we're NOT going to see that. Disney slashed off any ties to that, save for a Marvel Super Hero prize sometime last year.

    The VHS Thread

That's exactly the opposite for me. Remember, 2 episodes cost 10 bucks. At least. 50 and 60 bucks could cover well over 100 episodes in some cases. Some company got the rights to re-release He-Man and Bravestarr... I forget how much the complete series of both cost (Bravestarr had at least...

Warner Home Video now distributing Sesame Workshop DVDs

Need I even mention this old VHS? Sure, instead of Elmo, it's Cookie Monster, but I assure you, his role is just as small as Elmo's is sometimes. He basically appeared in 2 lines of Watermellons and Cheese... someone clearly thought Telly and Oscar weren't strong enough to sell the video...

    Peanuts becomes graphic novel

The difference... the Peanuts comics this comes from were written when Schulz did some of his best work... Star Wars prequel's came from Lucas being a fuddy duddy perfectionist.

    Peanuts becomes graphic novel

But they're HIS jokes. Maybe it's the pacing of a full on novel vs a series of 3 panel strips or something... That's the problem with the specials, they use the same strips, but they seem a little more wooden when a story is based around them. It worked fine for the Charlie Brown and...

First Look at Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles

Ah, well, that's good to know. I still wonder what kind of tone they're going with this one. I REALLY hope this to be successful... and I REALLY hope Nick can get a good partner for DVD releases so we can get the rest of BOTH series on DVD in season sets.

    Okay, let's talk about *this!*

face palm: Look at their show choices Okay... I'm about to do that rant I've been doing forever now, so here goes. FCC... Lipservice... cheap... 1990's nature shows. Really... Mustard Pancake? Critter Gitters? Curiosity Quest? There's your answer right there. There it is. They...

    New Awesome Muppet T-Shirts!

I've seen those. Finally a MALE adult FR shirt (though neon Yellow's a strange color... I hope it comes in something else)... and I'm liking how I'm seeing more and more of Fozzie and Gonzo on shirts, getting us out of the Animal and Kermit ONLY rut. But seriously, who do we have to see...

    Peanuts becomes graphic novel

I think when it comes down to it, it's not so much someone else drawing them (you need someone else to draw the characters for merchandising anyway, and I don't think there was any stipulation about that) so much as it is about writing. he doesn't want anyone else writing for the characters...

Why do School Choirs Always sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"?

HAH! It really seems that stuff like that becomes "Safe" with the passage of enough time... and of course, taken completely out of context. Seriously, speaking off topic here, when you're aiming to make a film like Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunks (that one was a pleasant surprise, but...

First Look at Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles

Mikey's personality isn't as consistent as his weapon. The Jeff Spicoli-esque surfer dude (very at the time for the show) personality ONLY covers the classic 80's series and Archie's comics based on them... the snarky wiseguy was seen in all 4 movies and the new series... and he had a much more...

Why do School Choirs Always sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"?

I'm gonna just say this, since this thread has nothing else I want to add or discuss. Why the frog do the same prudish people who whine about how sexual and evil a song is laugh like crazy when they use it out of context in a poor excuse for humor in a family film? I could get into the whole...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

They do this, for the hundreth time, for EVERYTHING! They either run all the new episodes for 3 weeks straight, or if you miss them you have to wait 2 months for them to start running the heck out of them. There are episodes of stuff I haven't seen in months, and episodes I saw the last week...

    Okay, let's talk about *this!*

Here's the thing... that's not an unreasonable "excuse." There is NO WAY a commercial network would be able to rerun SS... and if they did, it would be hacked and chopped up. Why, the only reason Noggin even aired what they did when they did was because that was when Viacom wasn't trying to...
