"The Doozers" preschool series under development

Sid at least uses digital puppetry. And you know something? I like Henson's digital puppetry. I like Sid, but I LOVE the Skrumps. Too bad nothing came out of that last one, except for that Archaia comic written by the guy who originally created it. CGI Doozers wouldn't be that expensive or...

    Kids' shows nowadays

Adventure Time is like Napoleon Dynamite... if you can easily get into the groove of what their humor is, you'll greatly enjoy the product. If you just don't get it, there's no chance you will in the long run. But I'm GLAD Adventure Time is so popular (though I couldn't get that Jake action...

Where's the love for Rocky and Bullwinkle?

I don't know if the park did... but Universal had a partnership up until the movie tanked. Just for distribution and marketing, of course...

Funko POP! Muppet figures coming in 2012

It's one of those sad things about the toy market now. You have to have things stylized to fit some sort of weird collector's set now... not that I mind at all. Hopefully the finished project includes pupils, or as Slackbot brilliantly stated, paint them on yourself. I kinda dig these, though...

    Does Disney own Fraggle Rock?

Actually, Henson really does... just everyone else doesn't. I don't think Henson would keep licensing the Fraggles out for merchandising and comics (just about the only thing they can do) if they didn't want to build it up to something. If nothing else, it IS the only major project not owned...

    No Oscar Performance?

No one ever sees the films that are nominated for Oscars, unless there's one very mainstream film there. Can't lie, I didn't even see Bridesmaids (not a big Kirstin Wiig fan, though I like her Kathy Lee Gifford skits and her Lola Bunny). other than the times they nominated Pixar Films, I...

Fraggle Rock Comics at Taco Bell

They didn't have toys in that one... they just decorated the boxes with Star Trek characters and themes. I guarantee you if a burger chain had a Star Trek kids meal promotion once they had toys, most of those ordering those Happy Meals would be well over the demographic. I think they had one...

    No Oscar Performance?

I don't like how they have like 9-10 nominees for best film, and give all that time to swooning over them via long clips and even longer introductions. They can't squeeze in about... let's say 7 minutes for 2 songs to the show? Thing runs very long all the time. Look at the year "Blame...

    No Oscar Performance?

Ah, they were probably going to give it to Rio anyway. The Bakadamy picked a lot of crap for nominations this year. Still, they should at LEAST have let the Muppets hand out the Animated Feature awards or have Piggy intro the costume design awards.

Funko POP! Muppet figures coming in 2012

Well, they already got 2 of them so far in a single series... if this thing goes 2-3 series, I could see the other three. I'd LOVE to see some other fan favorites down the line, especially Link. We've been getting a strange amount of Link merchandise lately.

    Does Disney own Fraggle Rock?

Henson is doing wonders with Marvin E. Quasniki's political run... they can do much the same with Red or Matt... and it doesn't have to be a thing like the Muppet viral videos like Bohemian Rhapsody. I'd LOVE to see one with Uncle Matt walking up to random "silly creatures" on the street and...

Funko POP! Muppet figures coming in 2012

I'm already sold, even before I saw the pictures on Dr. Teeth's inclusion.

For Crying Out Loud, What is Wrong With You People?

I wish nepotism was punishable by a very public ousting, and blacklisting from any job ever. I don't mean a friend putting in a good word for you, or someone actually helping you... I mean instances where someone favors a friend or family member over those who have the right qualifications or...

    Racial Coding in The Muppets

Indeed. The whole point is the characters come from a cartoonishly fictional place like Smalltown, they leave full of optimism and child like whimsy, under the impression the Muppets live in such a happy bubble, only to find out a cold, cruel reality struck Kermit and Fozzie. That's why I...

    Racial Coding in The Muppets

People who claim not to be racists usually are... but they feel really guilty about it. Cartoon characters (in this case puppets) that are anthropomorphic usually are raceless. Foozie doesn't look like a black stereotype to me, just the opposite... he looks like the stereotype of a fake white...

    Racial Coding in The Muppets

Actually, it seems like two political opposites... but I don't take crap off the Muppets from the far left OR the far right. I was just as annoyed by Fox bashing Sesame Street's Hope against Hunger as I was for some far left loser bashing the Cookie Hood episode for promoting commercialism and...

The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Thread!

Violet is WORSE than Lucy. She's that stuck up girl that REALLY REALLY hates Charlie Brown for no good reason. She's the one that uninvited Charlie Brown to the Halloween party. I mean, at least with Lucy, you can blame her anger and bossiness on some passive aggressive angst of not being...

For Crying Out Loud, What is Wrong With You People?

Gadgets are made in some pretty devious places under horrible conditions... it's not all that disconnected.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 42

That's my other major complaint... I love Super Grover 2.0... but there's no reason they should have used the segment that many times in a single season. I really disliked that the Ernie and Bert claymation shorts were ones that have been shown on television before, but they certainly could...

"The Doozers" preschool series under development

Doozers makes sense, anyway. All they're really doing is CGI kid's shows on PBS... seems like a good fit for them. Budget can't be that high... I'd bet if it wasn't digital puppetry, they'd just use another foreign animation studio and get Canadians to voice it... save all that money...
