I don't see it that way. I see it as the Muppets getting exposure in an attempt to get as many people to go to the movies to see their new film once November 23rd rolls around.
Kinda like how Kermit went on the talk shows to promote the Muppet Theater's latest shows in IaVMMCM.
In other words...
At the 1:15 mark in the trailer, I noticed that the store front on the right hand side of the screen says "Mack's Butcher Shop" or something like that.
I wonder if that could be a reference to the character Mack that appeared in the commercials that they did for McGarry's Sausages, Claussen's...
I agree. Let's hope that those empty arches will be filled before the film hits the theaters.
I'd also like to point out a slight continuity error: in the shots of the characters singing in the arches, Janice is part of the females' chorus line, but she also appears in the orchestra pit as...
As I said in my previous post, I think that Grover-like character is probably one of the Clodhoppers.
I'm also trying to identify the yellow-ish character slightly hidden behind Big Mean Carl. Looks like another whatnot or the Geri & the Atrics tamborine player.
And I think I see yet another...
I think I spotted some more minor characters in this trailer.
At 00:07, I think I see Yolanda the Rat on the bottom left corner of the screen.
And in the crowd scene at 0:59, I spotted a Crocodile (slightly hidden behind the Cactus) and a Grover-like Clodhopper (in front of Behemoth).
In the...

I have a question for anyone who saw the "The Muppets" clips at the Walt Disney Studios presentation:
Did either of those clips include any other minor characters that we haven't seen in any of the trailers? If so, do you remember who was there?
Since Pepe and Bobo are the only post-1990 Muppet characters that will be having speaking parts in the movie, I take it to mean that any of the other post-1990 characters that appear in the background (Big Mean Carl, etc.) are going to be silent in this film. Am I correct on this assumption?
Or you know how World of Color (the nighttime spectacular at California Adventure) often places a finale tag to the ending of the show, promoting one of the studio's newest major film releases (ie: Tron Legacy, Pirates 4, etc.)?
I think they could add a special finale tag to "World of Color"...
From the YouTube videos:
Waldorf: Watching these videos makes me worry about the future.
Statler: What future? At our age, tomorrow is a long shot.
W: That was so bad, it locked up my computer!
S: Quick! Let's get out of here before it finds the key!
S: How many hits did that thing recieve?
W...
