You could be right. They may have changed back because of the problems. They used to be home grown, then it got too overwhelming for their staff to handle the distribution so they hired it out. That caused a whole other batch of problems with shipment quality control (a few hundred Boxing...
oooh, cool!
Thank Heavens for the collector's club is all I have to say about that. If you haven't joined yet, that should be everyone's incentive right there. :D
They hire the job out to a small mail distribution center who bids on the job as a contract for a flat fee, no hourly wages or new staff for Toyfare are involved.
Toyfare's full of a bunch of hacks who think up homophobic jokes and toilet humor gags all day. And the man who runs the show let his brother pre-scalp the Simpsons exclusives off his website before they were ever released. See that ToyWiz.com ad in their mags, that's him (Toyfare - Wizard =...
Hey Luke,
I know that for all of the Toyfare magazine Simpsons exclusives, Forbidden Planet (formerly Scifi warehouse) in the UK used to get an allotment of all of the exclusives. I know this for a fact because that's how I wound up getting my Pin Pal Burns when my remittance coupon was...
I totally agree with your marketing strategy on Rowlf. I'm glad to see that you are saving the big guns to seed throughout each wave of the line for longevity. Also if you released the naked Rowlf first, many people would have an easier time passing on the tux version, but this way, folks will...
I wasn't singling you out Spenser. I've seen several people asking Ken here on this topic and other topics on the forum about their status, and it seems like it was starting to snowball with more "Me too, what about me?" posts. Sorry if you felt offended. Just trying to get everyone to be...
Okay, WHO'S BEEN SMOKING AROUND THE PROTOTYPES AGAIN?!?!?!? ;)
I printed off a picture of the painted kitchen prototype to give to my comic retailer to help him drum up customers for preorders, and I noticed the pack of Marlboro's in the left hand corner. The Swedish Chef would never...
Methinks this is about the point where Ken will post a collector's club service email address for folks who want to check up on their fan club status?? Or else it looks like he's going to get deluged with these type of status check requests over and over again. Be optimistic people, and assume...
Re: Less expensive? Have to be...
Yeah, when you're a monopoly, you can get away with stuff like that I guess. I have no idea how Diamond was found not guilty by the Department of Justice, when there are clearly no real alternatives for a comic retailer today (I've seen the barrel my...
Cool, sounds like you'll have a blast next year. *sigh*, my wife won't let me go to any cons outside a ninety mile radius from our home. You see, she has this electric shock collar on me (but I really shouldn't be telling you this) and whenever I do something she doesn't...
Hey Ken, out of curiousity, how many Fozzie's are you sending over to Sandy Eggo? Did you bump the numbers up again like you did with the VC Beaker over Philly Teeth? And have you decided on a price for Fozzie at the convention?
Satcapricorn,
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone here on the forum has an extra to trade, so you'll have to resort to ebay. But be prepared for sticker shock. The last four completed auctions each made a new high water price mark for this piece, climbing from $122.50 all the way up to...
Who else is going to buy the defective Kermie, with no hat? It's a marriage made in heaven. Somewhere out there on ebay, there's an error hunter just waiting for something like this to come along.
It's funny what errors some people will pay extra for on ebay.
I did see...
Well, Ken did say that the mega Beaker has hip joints, so you'd think that his lab coat must be made of something more pliable so that he can use em, right?
Yeah, I agree that the rooted hair would go a long way towards making the mega line more desirable. Also the ability to do extra articulation (like Kermit's legs) is very encouraging too. Let's hope that things work out and we get a rooted hair Piggy. :D
