I hope that I understand your question correctly but I think Caroll Spinney did a couple of sketches with other muppeteers other than Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson, for example, the sketch "Lulu's back in town" did include Jim Henson with Caroll Spinney and that unmistakable voice of Frank Oz.
Oh yeah, how could I have forgotten about Richard Hunt, his characters were so great. Gladys the Cow, Forgetful Jones, Don Music....and the list goes on. All the great masters have come and are going. I just wish they could have the same basic formula that has kept the show going for so many years.
Do you think that the passing of Joe Raposo contributed to the "decline" also; I admire his work on a lot of the songs he made for the show. I think he also passed in 1989.
I am not sure when Sesame Street started making "sweetened" versions of animated clips but I never liked the idea of...
Anyone remember that one? Probably mid-70's, it showed a man making a stool for his daughter to sit on. The man made it from scratch, you know by sawing a log, using a hatchet trimming the bark off and all that. The girl also said a rhyme that went something like when they were putting the legs...
I remember there were a lot of these Joe Raposo animal songs or clips that had his musical scores with them. An example will be I'm an Aadvark and the live action Road Runner clip. I'm guessing there's an animal song or clip for every letter of letter for the alphabet (Maybe some exceptions like...
Very cool
I haven't seen this in YEARS!!! I heard that its a parody of an R&B song called "Float On", I've heard the song before and it does sound similar in tune. It really is good to see this again. Gimme 1, 2, 3, 4 ...gimme Fi-iiiiive....love that ending.
Hail to thee, our alma mater, roosevelt franklin (Baaahhh)....ELEM-EN-TARY SCHOOL....ELEM-EN-TARY SCHOOOOOOOOOOOL....
:) You gotta love that intro!!! I really wish they did'nt retire his character. Even if Matt Robinson left, probably they could've used someone else to do the voiceover.
Thank you very much
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this song on youtube, thank you very much for posting the song. To be honest I got misty eyed looking at the clip, it took me back to when I was a kid. I really loved this song. I hope to see the other versions of the song on youtube in...
Roosevelt Franklin
Very interesting muppet, I personally thought he was really cool. A few may think of him being negative apart from the stereotyping as I read about- some may say he was too disruptive and all that. What do you think about the muppet that was Roosevelt Franklin? I truly missed...
Anyone remember David's grandma? I remember she made a couple of cameos back then. I'm not sure what her real name is but she was interesting, I loved the way Sesame Street helped to promote family ties.
I remember an episode where Big Bird goes to a school and sees the alphabet spread acoss a blackboard and he pronounces it as one word, he then sings the song we all know. I think that episode was early 1980's. Not the actual debut of the song though I think.
Whoa, totally forgot about him! Just to be sure, was he the guy who that song with the words : "Clap your hands, stomp your feet, turn around..." If that was him, I seriously forgot he was on Sesame Street!
This was a song done by Joe Raposo; probably mid-late 70's? I loved this song but I can't remember the entire lyrics to the song...there was " Me in ny mirror, me in my bed, me in the pictures I make in my head", at least something to that effect. I seem to remember a live action video that went...
Can't remember how many of these segments were in each episode but I do remember them. They were very educational, I forgot about these shape segments with David until you posted it. David was one of my favorite characters on Sesame Street.
Unfortunately, I have some recollection of this clip. I just need a visual aid to jump-start my already failing memory. It's been a while since I last saw it.
