What I find really great about The Muppet Show and the Muppets in general is that they were both fresh and edgy while still being wholesome and good for the whole family. I get that feeling with many sitcoms from the 50s, 60s, and 70s especially. The 80s and 90s were good also enjoyable in a way...
Even in Jim Henson's time, there was experimentation with 3D and CGI. Everyone knows Waldo as the first computer generated Muppet. It's interesting to see how far things have come since then. I think he had a defiant appreciation of traditional means, but he also seemed to embrace technology.
I know Pepe is a pretty popular character and all, but I still don't think he's as recognizable as Animal or Gonzo even in the public eye.
I like Pepe, but I just can't see him working on a cover. Even on a Muppets Tonight DVD. I would rather see Clifford. He's far more colorful and eye...
I feel as though he wouldn't have been surprised at many developments in technology and entertainment. He seemed to be one step ahead on that front.
Also, he seemed like the type who was constantly moving on and trying something new. I don't doubt that the Muppets would still be around if he...
Well, without sound I do think most of the sketches would just be funny pieces of cloth running around. The Muppets really are indeed a combination of physical puppetry, voice acting, and writing, as well as all of the other important aspects that go along with the art.
Jim Henson and Frank Oz...
Hey, they knew he had household objects to take care of him. ;)
I always figured his parents died when he was young. And Mrs. Potts and the other servants took on the role of parenting.
I think the problem with Piggy isn't that she's... a word that I can't say here... she just seems to lack a certain dimension that she had back in The Muppet Show and original Muppet Movies days. I don't think this is Eric's fault as much as it is the writing.
It is my observation at least that...
This movie looks like it is going to be amazing. I never read the book, though one of the girls I used to babysit said she did and really liked it. Anyway, I hope I'll be able to see this.
I agree that children deserve to have entertainment that is against the mold and not necessarily bright...
In reference to Alice being a Princess in Kingdom Hearts, I think that was meant to be a reference to her purity of heart. Think about this: Ariel, who is a princess, was not a Princess of Heart. I guess it makes sense somehow in the context of the game. (Mainly in that it works to have a...
I've been anxiously awaiting this movie for what seems like years now!
The Frog Prince (and variants of the story) has always been one of my favorite fairy tales. And the animation, concept art, and promotional art so far looks gorgeous.
I was thinking more on the subject, and the more I think of it, the more I know age is pretty irrelevant to the Fraggles. I mean, even the oldest Fraggles act much in the same way as the younger ones. It seems as though in different moments and in different episodes, they have different levels...
Maybe she'll be in the fourth hour? I think she still owes the co-hosts of the fourth hour a good talking to after her last(?) appearance in the Whatnot show.
Everytime I see Telly, I always think older kid. Maybe between eight and twelve. I know he's meant to be younger, but he just comes off as being older to me.
Though I think that ageless is a very good way of putting it for all the characters, really. I mean, most come off as being kids, but the...
My cousin's mom would not allow him to watch Muppet Babies when he was little. I guess she didn't want him talking like Animal. On the other hand, he had MCC, MTI, and GMC on video, so she must have eventually changed her mind on the matter.
