This is just a personal list of sorts; there are tons of funny Sesame Street clips/sketches out there but the funniest that come to mind are:
Hungry Cat waits for preoccupied owner to open can of cat food.
Restless Ernie tries to go to sleep by counting fire engines. (Bert's scream at the end...
That is heartbreaking, We really appreciate all his contributions that made this great show so unique. I saw "Things that I remember" for the first time very recently, and it tugged at my heart I can tell you that. If that was Frank Oz who performed Bert in that song, it must have touched his...
Have you ever wondered what does the Sesame Street crew do with props on the show that they don't intend to use, for example, like that painting of Ernie and Bert in their living room. Have you observed that the painting changed throughout the years? What do you think items like that go?....in...
Anyone remember the live action clip of a barebacked kid climbing a coconut tree? It also had a very catchy tune in the background. It was really cool to see him climb that tree with the greatest of ease. He later split the coconut and drank the water from it. When I saw that as a kid, I so...
Herbert Birdsfoot may not have been the most exciting muppet there was but there's still a part of me that would've liked to see him arund a little longer, even if he was used in background material. It's good to see a familiar face, I especially miss Roosevelt Franklin.
More info on John-John
I came across this info at muppetwiki, seems John-John is very versatile and skilled. http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/John_Williams_III
I regret not seeing the 20th anniversary special of Sesame Street.
I can only think of 3 occasions where you can hear his then raspy, smoky voice in some classic sketches:
1. "Me Claudius" from Monsterpiece Theater
2. The song "We are all Monsters"- the original, I say original because the DVD "Monster Hits" has Elmo singing with his present squeaky voice.
3...
Not too sure of their correct names but particularly in the early 70's- I think there was a muppet named Bennett Snerf (sp?), there was a female muppet named Arlene (I think). How about Little bird, when last has anyone seen Little Bird? My sister at the time considered the muppet named Maurice...
As if I could almost recall when Mr. Hooper gave Radar to Big Bird in one episode; could it have been when Big Bird was in hospital after his tonsils were removed? I remember the ice cream he got then!:)
The "Sad Daisy" clip always put me in a sad mood; it was most memorable to me because it was most notably shown in the "Goodbye Mr. Hooper" episode. The classical background music just added to the mood.
The Ernie and Bert song "Imagination" and believe it or not the "Milk" sketch on youtube...
Interesting point, do you think it had anything to do with the possibility of the authors' reluctance to put any animators names because of the huge amounts of cartoons that already passed through the Sesame Street? If they gave credit to even a few probably they though that the majority, if not...
Someone told me that John-John (the cute kid, chubby cheeks with an afro) from the early years of Sesame Street made an appearance on the 20th anniversary video (obviously as a grown up). Can anyone confirm this please?
Not a clip but...
..I would absolutely love to see the Sesame Street cast goes to Hawaii. It'll be great to see Buffy, Mr. Hooper and all the rest of the cast from way back when...even the then enigmatic Snuffy...remember when the guy was telling the story of the mountain that looked like...
Wow, you remembered that like it was yesterday, when I started reading your post- I literally recalled it all! I wanna see it again just for some closure- I could not sleep next to cracks on walls as a child.
Other animated clips that scared me was the Falling Apples on the Mountain/Ogre's head...
