Hey builders!
Now is the time to stock up on puppet building supplies. I was just notified by the guys over at McGinnis that they are going out of business and all of their supplies are being marked down for clearance. They have antron fleece, sintra, plastic dome eyes, black light fleece, and...
Careful that the "softening" of the plastic doesn't take tooooo long and you end up blowing the motor on the vacuum.
That would really.... suck. *laughing* sorry, couldn't help myself. :D
Might be a good idea to obtain suggestions for your building problems by starting a new thread rather than changing the subject of someone else's thread. The chances that someone will see it and respond would be greater than trying to get help in a thread that isn't related to building problems...
yeah, I'm fearless that way...... or maybe just crazy? I figure, it's been a while since I've been smacked by a rubber chicken.
Your welcome for the mention guys!
I custom build puppets, however, my schedule is currently running about 6-8 weeks for shipping. If you need something sooner, you might want to try talking to a few other builders who frequent this forum.
If I've done this right, then you should be able to click on the names I've provided to...

Try those links to old threads on the same subject. ;)
My favorite is "The judge" I just love how the two ears are also his head/body and mouth! Not to mention his eye is inside his mouth, which makes it very unique.... and kinda looks like a deranged version of a clam. I think this is the Picasso of puppet building! :excited: Love It!

Okay, thats it! I'm not playin!
Just kidding Buck..... just kidding. :D I like the idea of submitting more than one photo of our puppets in real life situations, it makes viewing all the entries even more fun! Terry Angus is so good at telling a story with photos, I always enjoy his...
I don't know about you guys, but I'm in it for the T-shirt! :excited: :p
Can't wait.... but can't beleive it's already been a year! Wow! Hey Buck, if you have a button then go ahead and e-mail it to me and I'll put it up on my "Build Your Own Page" to help advertise the contest.
I haven't taken a close look recently, but I know that he has used styrofoam balls for eyes on puppets he sold on Ebay in the past. I'm not sure if he does it only for the Ebay puppets or not.... I think I remember him making a comment on this forum about using them as well. I'll have to...
*big sigh* how did I know it wasn't going to be that easy?
Okay, next question. I'm getting conflicting advice/suggestions in regards to releasing copyrights to patterns. I've been told that patterns (puppet ones to be specific) can't be copyrighted.... and someone else told me that they can...
Oh yeah, I'm wiping the dust off and diggin this old thread out of it's coffin where it probably belongs. *laughing*
I was wondering if anyone had any legal text that could be used in relation to puppets built for a client. Bascially, I would like something that would allow me to release in...
How true! Just ask the guy who was recently arrested in my area for robbing a hardware store with ..... you guessed it, a tape measure under his sleeve. Apparantly, he thought the metal tab would look like the barrel of a gun if it was extended out a bit from inside a jacket sleeve.
Perhaps...
I wouldn't know your span of knowledge beyond the subjects that you contribute your time and effort to help others with here. *gulp* Yeah, thats what I meant. :p
*laughing*
Yippie!!! I made my first attempt at using this method and I must say that it went off rather nicely! I planned to take some photos after I returned from a visit to the local shop that sells my puppets. I brought this new character there to pick up my check for items sold and a customer bought...
Might wanna talk to puppetsnstuff. I know that he uses polar fleece quite frequently. He is a member here on MC as well as a predominate seller of puppets on ebay.
Otherrwise, polar fleece makes decent hair if cut up for puppets or you can use it to make colorful clothing for your characters. I...
