"Ha! That's very funny! Because flying unicorns aren't real!"
"Yeah, but they don't go to shops either."
One of my favorite little gags in the special!
It's The Muppets for me. I do enjoy the original three films, and I love Muppet Christmas Carol to pieces, but my favorite way to watch the Muppets is still by watching the Muppet Show. For me personally, seeing a film so heavily influenced by the Muppet Show is just what I want from a Muppet...
Maybe I'm just absolutely losing my mind here, but I can't help but notice that the current Kermit puppet looks a little funky sometimes. I'm not quite sure what it is about it, because most of the time he looks fine, but sometimes he just looks...odd now. I didn't notice it so much in the...
Here's a picture of Ernie:

The eyes aren't perfect (Though I made the slant too severe which doesn't help) but as you can see, they work reasonably well as a match for that style of eyes.
I've used spoons for the eyes on my replicas of Rowlf and Ernie over the years. They work pretty well, but they are more overtly egg-shaped than the more oval shape of Rowlf's eyes. If you don't mind that though, they work quite well as nice looking puppet eyes!
Really? Huh. The clip from the movie itself? Because I just saw it again tonight and it sure sounded like heavy cake to me. I know the line is take on the soundtrack. Not that it really matters. It's funny either way.
"Life's a piece of cake." "With someone to give..." "...and someone to HEAVY CAKE!"
Didn't catch that line at first, but it cracks me up every time now. In addition to all the other obvious funny parts that everyone else already pointed out. :p
I considered spoons for my replica, but I figured they would be too flat. I used slices of styrofoam eggs covered in a thin white fabric for the eyes on my puppet. Not real accurate to the actual material of the real puppet, but it creates the right kind of rounded shape.
Thanks! I'm glad you all like him so far! He's made from a slight alteration from the pattern I created for my Kermit replica. It's literally just Kermit's head repurposed for a round mouth as opposed to a pointy one. There's also a piece of foam in the head since Walter's head has a bit more...
Howdy howdy, folks! Though I've not posted much, like the rest of you, I've been very much caught up in the excitement of the new Muppet film. After seeing it twice on opening day, I decided that I had to add Walter to my small collection of Muppet replicas. I've been interested in creating a...
Wow these are quite well done. Gonzo especially is really cool, but Fozzie and Kermit are nothing to sneeze at either. And the voices are pretty decent too!
Yep, the head is made with two Quaker Oat cardboard tubes. The bottom of his mouth is wear the tubes connect. The shirt is actually just some white fabric I had with a checked pattern drawn on with a fabric marker, as that's what was available. It's not an actual shirt. Just fabric wrapped...
