I think the glorified sock puppet pattern is a great one. its easy to follow and gives a great result even the first time you try it. Also take a look at the foam book & Puppet Planet by John Kennedy. They're different styles of building. The wonderful thing about puppetry is that your end...

    Copyrighting puppets

So I *do* maintain copyright, but need to prove that I made them (which is easily done as I sign & date all of my work. I'm not worried about it necessarily. The guys at the agency used to work with my husband at a different agency (which is weird that they found me via other means). I should...

    Question about making puppets

Pepperwink, Another trick I learned from making teddy bears is to cut your fabric just slightly larger, with your pattern drawn out on the fabric, sew before you cut. It works well for smaller details like fingers/toes. You still need to pin, but its less detrimental if something should...

Art Vs Craft, Pricing & the Whathaveyou

This is actually a huge theory in improv. That along with the "to what level do you consider success?" Improv meccas are chicago, toronto, los angeles & new york. yes, all lower-cased this morning. However if people who could be successful in those cities simply choose to stay in their own...

Art Vs Craft, Pricing & the Whathaveyou

Bezalel & RavageFrackle & Gordon brought up a lot of really good points in regards to pricing & art vs craft. I didn't want to completely hijack Mary Kate's thread in regards to copyrights, so I thought I'd post a new topic. (just to be clear that we're all on the same page...
