Thanks! That one really "felt right" to me. It was an entirely different script to start with that I wasn't entirely happy with, but the moment I took the first frame, I had an epiphany and went down the path published. Glad I'm not the only one who liked it! :D
Finally had a chance to read Issue #2 over the weekend. It always takes a couple pages before the artwork really "clicks" for me, but once it did, I enjoyed this book much more than the first issue. The Fozzie Bear storyline felt a bit more real to me (that is, truer to a Muppet Show storyline)...
Hey, it's the first of the month again. Yes, that time when I shill out my Muppet Webcomic and don't seem to contribute anything else to the forum! But that's only because someone else says what I want to say before I say it. ;)
You can check out the comic for 2009 May at Collector Times...
I've read the comic a few time since this weekend and, well, I'm not feeling the love that most readers here seemed to have. I think this is a case where the comic put into sharp relief what I like about the Muppets versus what the author and artist like. There's nothing I could really find that...
I get my comics delivered bi-weekly, so my copy is scheduled to arrive (finally!) this Saturday. In the list of all the excellent pulls for this shipment, this is my most anticipated--even beating out Farscape #3. While, from what I've seen, the artwork doesn't really excite me, I'm looking...
Been a bit too busy at the office lately to do much more than surf forums and not reply to the posts I want to reply to. But at least I'm still on schedule with Muppet Times! The archives have also been updated on my own site, which you can visit by clicking this link. Hope you enjoy reading...
Not bad at all--and with little to no repeat actions. Having done my one stop-motion project, I know how long these things take. And the danger/frustration of having figures fall.
There were a few Muppet figures that ended up with tacky (and sometimes) smelly paint, Phil being the most well-known offender. So, fret not. This had nothing to do with leaving the figures in the packaging.
I put any figures like in the freezer for an hour or two and that helps a bit. (If...
Hoggle is shorter than most of the Muppet toys. He stands at almost 4.25 inches. Accessory-wise, he does come with a peach--which I'd advise against eating.
Edited to add: Jareth is closer to 7 inches than 6.
It's the first of the month and that means Muppet Times has a new issue! Since the back issues of Collector Times can be hard to search, you can also catch up on previous months at my website, here. (And, if you don't quite get this month's reference, it might be because you're not yet familiar...
Greg the Bunny was excellent adult humor puppetry. Comedy is difficult though, and I stand by the words of Joel Hodgens when he was creating Mystery Science Theater 3000, "We don't think about who will get the joke, we script knowing that the right people will get the joke." In the end, I think...
Incidentally, shortly after writing this, I discovered that, though Jareth and Hoggle's feet regions can be manipulated, to do so drastically effects their ability to stand. So, really, it's articulation for the point of saying "it's articulation" but that does no actual good... unless you like...
I recently purchased a dual-packed Jareth and Hoggle figure pack from NECA's Cult Classic line (based on the Henson movie Labyrinth) and I'm pretty impressed. I've not seen anything mentioned in this forum, so I thought I'd bring it up. The Cult Classics line is in the 7" range and works fairly...
