He is lecturing about 'short and tall, and has two creepy little furry black monster muppets with retractable head that go up and down, confusing the heck out of Kermit. It's one of two skits they did, they other is 'big and tall' with the two Beautiful Day Monsters. The first was funny and less...
My favorite
Well, Kermit is the obvious choice, he's the leader, you could say.
Next to him, I would say, believe it or not, The Sweedish Chef! He always cracked me up with his bad sweedish talk! It was sort of like his own kind of language. Just hilarious!!
In the beginning, we see the first muppet skit on Ed Sullivan in 1966, with the instant monster rock n' roll band. What was the name of song and who were the real musicians playing it?
I'm sure we can come up with a bunch here:
When he always got mad at grover
'Will you get out of here!!!!' He would just wave his arms and explode! Very funny!!
Or this one after some of his skits:
'YEEESSSH!!
I can't recall any names. I know that the original one sadly passed away a few years back from Parkinsons disease, and I am very familiar with the Gordon who was bald with a mustache. But weren't there a few others in between?
Kermit
Gonzo would have the funniest looks when his long nose would always be messed with!LOL!
I always loved how Kermit exploded on Grover when he got him mad, waving his arms yelling, and Grover would scream and run away! I saw one of these skits on that special of Muppets: 30 year...
There wasn't much flexiblity in Ernie's face. But the laugh is legendary.
Kermit would always wave his arms also when he would announce a new guest each week for the Muppet Show.
Example:
"It's the Muppet Show, with our very special guest star(let's say)Paul Wlliams!! YAY!!!"
Amazing the what the slightest move of a hand can do. Henson was a master at this, giving everyone the unforgettable faces of emotion by Kermit.
That one at the end of the B skit with Cookie Monster, when CM kisses him. Always found it funny how his face would scruch up, saying "YEEESSH!!!'...
I've seen a brief version on an old 'Sam and Friends' clip and one on the Muppets Magic'tape, with a more 'hip' sixties garb wearing Kermit.
How many more of these skits did they shoot. It was classic stuff! Sort of what I imagine is a precursor to some of the ideas for SS.
Lefty
Those were always my favorite skits! Especially if Ernie talked too loud, Lefty would give him a stern "SHHHH!!!!'
The one with the number '8' is hilarious! Listen to Ernie's response as Lefty keeps shh'ing him, remember?
Lefty "If you forget what time you eat breakfast in the...
Muppets 30 year Celebration
Radio Boy, I too would be interested in a copy as I have been trying to find this for a long time as well. If you can email me at crlleitz@aol.com to make any arrangements you need, I would really appreciate it also.
Need help with with old Sesame episodes
I'm looking for some old SS Episodes. ones with preferably these skits on them:
The Kermit skit w/ the glasses of milk (forget what it's called)
A few of the letter skits (anyone, don't care)
I'd say these are circa '69 to maybe '71. I usually don't...

Speaking of balloons, remember the Ernie & Bert skit when counting sheep was too loud for Bert and Ernie started counting balloons? He imagined this big balloon getting bigger and bigger, then it made an explosion that had Bert waking up screaming "AAAGGGH!!!!' LOL!
Yes, he ordered a letter 'F'for his lecture and realized he got an 'E', he called "Hey you guys!". Beautiful Day plays a delivery guy with hat and all, and Kermit explains he ordered an F not an E. He explains the difference between the two as the F not having the bottom part. Beautiful Day...
Bert
Even though I don't watch SS, if I ever have kids, this would be the show for them to watch, and I would get them a Bert doll for Xmas! I knew a woman I worked with once, and she had a studio picture of her little grandaughter and holding in her lap was a small doll of Bert. It was THE...
