There wasn't much flexiblity in Ernie's face. But the laugh is legendary. Kermit would always wave his arms also when he would announce a new guest each week for the Muppet Show. Example: "It's the Muppet Show, with our very special guest star(let's say)Paul Wlliams!! YAY!!!"

I think the Beautiful Day Monster on the Muppet Show was less scary in my opinion.

I've seen a brief version on an old 'Sam and Friends' clip and one on the Muppets Magic'tape,with a more 'hip' sixties garb wearing Kermit. How many more of these skits did they shoot. It was classic stuff! Sort of what I imagine is a precursor to some of the ideas for SS.
