Hello squirrelboy here,
I just wanted to say, you're right, you are all right. I feel like an idiot for even posting anything in this post, have I known this would be the result.
All I wanted was to share my opinion so anyone who never got the chance to see the "1" sketch (baker films) and...
Hello squirrelboy here,
I just recently saw this thread and I too have often wondered about why the "1" sketch was almost never shown - I am refferring to the Baker sketch.
I mean, I agree with what a lot of you people are saying, but how exactly are you trying to teach kids how to count...
Squirrelboy here,
Thanks for the imput on Ernie's niece Ernestine. I didn't know if anybody knew her.
Then there's characters like the Countess, I didn't think anyone could put up with the count's counting the way she can. Does anyone know if she was around during the early years?
Once...
Squirrelboy here,
I know exactly what you mean, minor muppetz. I have always admired the puppets they came out with in the early years. Especially when they used them in that Sesame Street library. I didn't even know some of these characters - period.

The Amazing Mumford, Sam the...
Hello squirrelboy again,
WOW, I am suprised to hear how many people knew who "Little Bird" was. I have always thought that Little Bird was in the canary family in terms of birds. To tell you the truth - I grew up in Mid '76, so I didn't get much of a chance to see how this show started out...
Squirrelboy here,
You are right on the money.
It certaintly is a unusual sketch, especially when the professor shows a big #7 (on a silver platter) to a woman and little girl, waiting for there lunch. The woman's expression on that one was priceless!!
I am glad I am not the only one who...
Hello out there - squirrelboy here.
I have decided to try again and make another post.
How many of you out there remember "Little Bird" on Sesame Street?
Does anyone know if he was part of any sketches, or was he another muppet? And what year did he last until?
Any of your thoughts...
Hello out there, squirrelboy here:
I just wanted to say "thank you" for helping me remember the rubber stamp 1 - 20 sketch from the begginning to the end. It is really neat what Sesame Street has come up with over the years to help children with thier 123's.
On a side note: I thought for...
Hello, squirrelboy here.
I just thought of 2 scary sketch(s):
They are both in black & white (they look more like old movies than sketches), but still.
1) A lady is yelling HELP!! from a burning building, the guy recuses her, but nearly gets killed towards the end.
2) The same goes for...
Hello squirrelboy again,
I am glad I could be of some assistance.
I didn't mention this before, but I myself have enjoyed the way some of these number sketches are made, like this one. It's actually quite original.
The only other sketch that's really quite neat is the one that goes from 1...
Hello squirrelboy here,
I think I could help you with your question (sort of):
1 - A number "1" comes out of a frying pan held by a fish.
2 - A girl looks down at the ground and the "2" pops up.
3 - A number "3" pops out of a potato chip bag held by a hand.
4 - A dinosaur carries the number...
Hello again, squirrelboy here:
I just thought of a few other sketchers that are scary.
1) Does anyone remember the sketch where this kids dog pretends to be an alligator? That was actually quite freaky when I was young.
2) The ABC's done with fireworks took me by suprise when I was very...
Oops! Forgot about that one!, Yeah that one gave me the creeps.
I left out one that I remember well:
The tornado week, where a live tornado came through Sesame Street, destroying Big Bird's home. That's a scary memory since there are a lot of tornado's year round. Definetally scary...
I have a couple of sketches were very uneasy for me too,
1) Danger is no stranger song. It's a nice song if you don't have to look at everything around you, but the second I saw that guy hanging from ropes playing a piano, that freaked me out! Now if I see that sketch on, it's not as scary...
I think we all need to "cool it".
I know I am new around here, so again - I apoligize. But I do want to say thank you for what you said, it inspires me inside, I've always liked Bert & Ernie, they to me are a comedy duo with different thoughts and emotions. Sometimes I understand, sometimes...
First of all, I am "new" to this forum, so take it easy, OK?
Second of all, that's supposed to both Bert & Ernie's apartment. Besides, when I was younger, I thought that sketch was showing how to throw someone out. That made me sad when I was younger, because I never saw Ernie's weird side...
I could never understand the "Dance myself to sleep" one, it doesn't make sense, why would Ernie have all those lambs take Bert and his bed out of the apartment?
I left out one other one I liked:
Bert and Bernece (a pigeon) are playing checkers, and Ernie comes into the room and asks Bert a...
Hello out there, squirrelboy here.
First off, I am new to this forum.
We'll I was just wondering, do any of you have a favorite Bert & Ernie sketch that you remember seeing when you were younger?
I, myself have a couple:
1) The first one is the one where Ernie & Bert are fishing, and...
