Wow! 3 hours, that's some rate of pay! £276 for your last puppet wasn't it! I think I could get in the mood quite easily for that sort of return! Seriously though, well done, your work is inspirational.
Hello, I really like the pic because it gives a much clearer way of fixing the lid mech to the head, and not moving about and getting caught up or twisted. Well done and many thanks for sharing!
I use elastic sewed onto fabric then glued onto my mouthplate. However this is only good if it is a rigid plate, for flexible ones I use a "pocket", as I am a "leftie" and the friend I work with is not! The glove is an interesting idea, though only can be used one-handed.
Hi, I missed out on the fraggle pattern by a pound, so back to the drawing board, I guess! Puppetise I have sent you an e-mail via the site, did you get it ok? I was thinking that I really need to get the right type of feathers as well, but the puppet comes first!
Hello, Renegade, I really like your puppet, I am really impressed that this is just your second puppet! He has real character, just love the nose, hair and jacket, Well done!
I agree, five months is not a short time, but it is her birthday at the beginning of the summer, so I was going to give it to her then. I also have a huge priority build session for our next season's show, which needs writing, recording etc, etc, I have been making a turtle puppet for that but...
I apologise at once if I have missed something, but I have searched and searched the forum for a good generic "fraggle" pattern. I want to make a fair replica for my daughter as she leaves home for university later this year, and she is mad on Fraggle Rock, probably Wembley. No doubt I can...
I think that the UK has alot to offer in the field of Puppet Building and Performance, but we are behind the US in being able to make money at it. I agree that there have been several unworthy "professional puppets" sold on EBay (converted teddies and the like), but I hate to say it, it is a...
Many thanks for the insight, I use elastic for keeping the hand in the mouth, but have thought about fabric lined foam tubing, what method do you use or does the foam of the head do that? I make a framework of 1/2" foam then cover with foam or fleece, what do you use? How do you obtain Antron...
Very nice! I like his bushy hairdo, are they spoony eyes? How do you get the pupils round and central! What do you make your mouth plate from, wood or flexible stuff like gasket rubber etc?
Hope you don't mind sharing! Mandy
Hey, Puppetise!
What a good idea, I think it is a really good idea, it would save us asking the same questions on this forum all the time, if there was a central resource. Do you want us all to contribute? Don't worry about the Grammar and Spelling too much, save that for when you get a book...
Hi, I would also be very grateful for a fraggle pattern, how well does the german one make up, or is it really a beginner shape? Many thanks for all the info, just found out I have MS so doing all I can to keep busy and I live love puppets!!
Hi, I work alot with special needs kids and adults, and the touch feel and have a go side of things is part of the puppet experience. I have 100 workshop puppets that are for general use, and the rest are stored separately for puppeteers only! Armrods can be dangerous. Funnily enough, these...
Wow! that's original! Thanks for sharing. I am obsessed with puppet construction, and find it difficult to part with them because they are all individual. How long does it take you to make a puppet? I find that all I think about is puppet designs, I look at everything in the light of "can I...
Angelfire ROCKS!!
Hi, I really like the puppet, and your website is really good too! What material are you using in your puppet-making section? (won't be able to get in UK! ) It sort of sparkles - is that the legendary muppet fleece?
Fabrics in the UK tend to be a bit "stodgy", that is...
