Hi, Really nice puppet, the fur looks great, did you make a latex body as well? I am making a rod puppet singing snail duo at the moment out of latex and acrylic paint. They have been great fun so far, just have to get the mouth mechs smaller than I usually use, do you use metal or wood?

Hi, Am feeling a little better today, I know what you mean by the written word, I am sure it is less easy to get the wrong idea about stuff in conversation. Sorry all for whingeing! I have spent many years working for different groups without a penny in return for puppets, scenery, props etc...

Calvin & Hobbes Plush dolls BY ME!

Hi, I really like Hobbes! My son went through a phase when all he would read or have read was Calvin and Hobbes- he is 12. Now he has stopped, but I still love reading them! I think you have acheived a really good likeness, I am sure Hubby will be thrilled.

    live hand puppets

I made several mistakes when I made my first "hand" puppet, it was trial and error. First too small, then baggy! When you get it right, save a copy as Wes says, in fact I keep copies of all my unusual builds just in case I get asked for replicas, also to cut out some of the trial and error -...

    My Kermit progress

Wow, if I had had as much luck with my first puppet, think where I would be now! He looks really good, really can't wait to see him with eyes and collar! Legs are an awkward addition, as they have a habit of rotating backwards, but they would look good! Well done and best wishes. M

What are the Avenue Q puppets made of?

I am feeling unwell and find looking around on this puppet building site is my treat for the end of the day, I'm sad that we are all questing to find our own identity and keep the art of Puppetry going for future generations, and we still end up argueing...shame!

    making legs for puppets

If you sew in legs, it helps to shape the lower end of the body rather than leaving it as a tube, like you do with making shoulders for the arms.

Some new puppets on my website- what do you think?

Hello, I am very much trying to concentrate on developing my "style" and get away from making puppets in a rush for using in our shows, but developing each puppet, from design to finish, and taking time to perfect the process! This is the ideal I would like to follow and am kitting out a cabin...

What do you think about this ebay puppet?

Yes, as interesting as it is to share ideas etc, Puppet Builders like Pauly have spent years perfecting their art, it is not really fair to make patterns from their work to use for your own without their permission. Anyhow, with your enthusiasm, youth and creativity, you will no doubt stamp...
