It's sad that Columbia has been so aggressive with cheap season box sets (Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Cheers,the Jeffersons, and Good Times are all about $20 a season) and the Muppets get three per disc trickling out so slowly.

Anyone know why the 5th season was the last? Did the contract run out and Henson wanted to move on to other things (like Dark Crystal?) Was there a push to move exclusively to movies with Great Muppet Caper? Were ratings sagging (heaven forbid!) None of the Henson books I read mentioned this...

It's also at the end of 'Reservoir Dogs' when everyone is dead. Which is no help at all. But Harry Nilsson was great.

Sounds great. I read that Gilda was the ONLY one on SNL that appreciated Henson and the Muppets on that first season of SNL (and the only one to host TMS later).

I WISH I still had this one on tape. I must have watched it fifty times after it aired. It looks like a stiff clip show but it's so filled of great performances and Muppet humor that the 'host segments' are the best part! And Jim does maybe his first cameo when he gets the bill for the banquet!
