i have a theory as to why Toyfare charges more.
toyfare is not a toySTORE. they are a magazine. as such, they have a wharehouse, or trucks to ship figures back and forth from. so instead, they have to rent storage, trucks, and everything else on a case by case basis. then they have to pay...
just to point out something that seems to be a point of confusion...there will be no Animal exclusive at ComiCon. there was GOING to be one, but it didn't happen. instead there is "Invisible Spray" Fozzie. he is a replacement for Animal. so there is no such thing as "each of the exclusives"...
i think that's actually a very valid point, that i'm upset that i didn't think of. it does make sense, and Ken did say there was "something special" coming for good old Rowlf...
here's my take on series 3...
Rowlf - i'm a bit confused, and would love to hear what led up to this decision, but by and large, i'm not complaining. i do have a couple of questions, though. first off, is it my imagination, or does Rowlf look thiner in the tux than his regular figure did...
i think it's that he's standing up straight. think about it, any time i can remember seeing Scooter's legs, they were bent at the knees. or maybe it's just my imagination and that's just the way i always pictured him.
i think Lew looks just fine...he could maybe use a touch up on the face...
actually, according to my sources (who usually run about 50/50 on accuracy), mediaplay is no longer the top of the chain. according to them, Best Buy bought the whole chain at the beginning of the year. they're apparantly keeping it kinda quiet, though...which is something i havn't figured out yet
that's because it's not common knowledge...because these things WEREN'T FOR SALE!! now i'm not saying that i wouldn't love to have one because that would be lying. but the fact that they showed up on ebay at all just makes me angry. they weren't made for general sale.
if Toyfare's shipping schedule holds true, it'll be out second week of august. if you look on diamond's site, it's not on the list for this week or next.
btw, ken...very nice on the new sig...
ah, see...i'm lucky! my fiancee is a closet geek herself...and a fraggle fan. we met over comic books, and she has a few toys herself. though she still can't understand my facination with transformers. when that one comes around, though...i'll just find her tickets to a page and plant or...
actually, that sounds pretty spiffy. kinda like Art Bell from the other side. i like it! and knowing that, i agree that it may just escape from comparisson.
hmm...there's a joke here...the question is, should i take it?
ih...
"virgin's blood, amongst those that spend all their time on the internet talking about Muppets, is probably not in short supply"
not that there's anything wrong with that...(and it's probably not even true, but it was...
i dunno, a talkshow could be cool...but they run the risk of looking likr they're copying. Space Ghost did this for a comeback a few years ago, and it was beautiful. anything that involves a non-human talk show host is automatically going to be compared to that. and i'm gonna have to admit...
