Except for Frank still doing Piggy, it's not worth it. I have it and watched it once. I heard directly from one of the principal performers who worked it how different the mood was on the set without Jim, and instead of taking the time and concentraiting on doing quality work "all they did was...
The heart and sould of the Company are dead or retired, so the best days are over. The Muppets are sliding into nostalgia before our eyes, instead of being the "hot hip in thing" anymore. Like Hanna-Barbara, for example, they will exist as long as there is a buck to made off them, no matter...
Just giving you all a heads-up (warning) about my next "Muppets, Disney N' More" eBay auction. It will start Christmas morning (10a.m. PST) and run until Jan. 3rd 2007. I have about 65 items available, some choice Disney things, plus a variety of other goodies, (Hollywood, animation, etc.)...
I watch almost all of those, but I'm glad someone mentioned the ORIGINAL (and I'll add UNCOLORIZED) "Miracle of 34th Street" (mostly becasue I'm in love with Maureen O'Hara). I just got the new double-DVD but am saving that for Christmas Eve watching.
I don't know where you draw the line. On one hand there have been cases of 10 year olds actually raping female students, but on the other, I doubt the kid would even know what "harrassment" was.
Remindes me of the three year old who's parents were "warned" that he "was showing signs of...
As a production, I'm sure it will be fine, and we can all use another good quality family picture out there, especially for the kids. But without Jim, Jerry and Richard I doubt it can caprture the magic or live up to the fan base's expectations. Personally, while I appreciated the production...
Did you know he worked The Muppets at least twice? They did a Christmas Special of his (The King and Featherstone puppets were running a hotel and Perry tried checking in. King: "Don't bang the bell! You can ring the bell, touch the bell, even tinkle the bell BUT DO'T BANG THE BELL!"-Running...
And let's not forget the guest stars. Though not all of them were gems, they did manage to book most of the legends, often times right before they died. Who are you going to book now-Jessica Simpson? The winners of "American Idol"? Come ON!
Was there ever a GOOD version out? I remember reading when the film was first released about limited edition dolls, and even adult closthing inspired by the film's designs. I remeber looking for this stuff, but never saw it. On in the U.K.?
The short nap fur is probaby like Muppets in that it is just the same long shag trimmed back with scissors. I do this all the time to help shape and define faces, hands and feet.
Disney + Henson + Corporate Greed + riding along on past glories + need to pay Eisner's "Muppet deal" debt + no respect or listening to the true fans =
Crap like this.
You might also try Foamies that come in a sheet. I've glued fabric to the side intended to be seen. It's lightweight, durable, flexible and comes in different thicknesses. I'm working on a rat wight new that has a grumpy sneer and was able to pull the corners of the mouth downward with Foamie...
