    Question about eyes

yeah...it's eyes are kinda like kermit's, but i want eyelids to look like gonzo's. :concern: the puppet's head is shaped kinda like a mix between a fraggle's and bert's, and the eyes are on the top/front of the head. i'm playing around w/ different building ideas, so this puppet wasn't really...

    Question about eyes

i just finished making an experimental puppet out of some materials in my house (old fleece blanket my dog chewed on, pillow stuffing, cardboard, tshirt, ping pong balls...). i made the mistake of using crazy glue on the mouth and eyelids. not cool. :concern: it bleached the color of both the...

    What characters have you created?

i totally agree with the fact that a puppets personality comes from it's physical characteristics. i have some puppets where the design alone spawned the voice and behavior. then there are some puppets that are based on people that i've known at one time or another. the puppets' personalities...

    What characters have you created?

the first puppet given to me was a purple monster-type character about 10 years ago. at the time i was mesmerized by Bobcat Goldthwait, so i gave the puppet (Walter) a voice and characteristics very similar to Bobcat's. i have a few characters in the works including a nervous robot...

    How did you get started?

i have a question for you. the only puppets i've successfully made so far are made primarily of glue and foam, but i've just started exploring the whole art of making puppets with sewing. how do you stuff/form the head of a sewn cloth puppet without blocking the access to the mouth? (i hope i...

    How did you get started?

i've seen some of the puppets that you guys have made, and i'm very impressed with some of them. i was just wondering where you all started or learned to start up building puppets. i'm very much a self-taught puppeteer/builder of about 10 years, so i look forward to learning from...

What type of puppetry is your favorite?

hand, hand/rod, and vent are my favorite styles. i feel the most comfortable w/ hand and hand/rod, but ventriloquism always gets a fun reaction.
