I'll tell ya... thanks to Super Mario World and Yoshi's Story, there was a BIG Yoshi hype in my class during the late 90s (1998 specifically)... if you had the N64 beanies, you were cool. I still have my Yoshi beanies... green, yellow and red, but I never was able to get my hands on the elusive...
I'm just the opposite, I'd like to try and experiment with soft palattes, because I really would like to add some expression to my puppets' faces, especially since when I write my shows, I tend to write actions that require flexibility, like if a puppet were to expression annoyance with a smirk...
Seriously? As great as your puppets are, I would've assumed you used something sturdier/stronger/better quality than that.
But then again, we all know that even the best of puppets are made from the simplest of materials...
For expressionless mouths I tend to use cardboard myself, but...
As far as significant set changes are concerned, save for curving the street in 1970, the series of significant changes didn't really start until like 1988 or so with a simply change of the scenery in the backdrop behind the fence in the arbor, then it seems like afterwards, small changes kept...
For a puppet like Kermit, gasket rubber is always recommended for that flexibility... as for puppets like Oscar or Cookie, I honestly have no clue, I was always under the impression that they simply have cloth mouths.
Well gee, I mean it's not meant to be picture perfect, that's the artist's style, that's the way he draws... you have to really follow the comic (the whole series) to see that.
Well Ryan, the problem is anytime we try to have such a topic, one of the mods ends up closing/deleting in the blink of an eye... it's kind of gotten ridiculous too, this past fall thread closures were increasing to such proportions, that some members actually begged moderation to STOP closing...
Wow... this thread exploded whilst I slept.
I pretty much had the same reaction reading your post as Kathy did CJ... and I thought my town was having problems in recent years; the only time I remember a teacher or a faculty member getting physical with a student was one time in middle school...
Hey, can anybody do me a favor?
Does anyone out there think they could post the street scenes from episode 1740 on YouTube? I taped this off Unpaved from Noggin, however it was in the middle of the night, so I had to keep the volume turned down... unfortunately, I accidentally kept the CABLE...
What I want to know is what WRONG with the WORLD these days?
Why are people going on shooting/raping/killing/burglary sprees lately? Why are teenagers strangling themselves/setting themselves on fire/making homemade bombs out of baking soda/beating the crap out of each other and posting it...
Exactly, the show flowed much better in general with that change.
Another reason too is with the departure of Jon Stone, because let's face it, he pretty much was the glue that held the show together... since then, Sesame Street went from being a realistic inner-city street like he wanted to...
Yeah... the format as well... it's like around the early 80s is when actual storylines for street scenes started becoming the norm, rather than various different street scenes in vignette style.
Yes, the pic you provided is very similar to the one I'm looking for - only difference is that this is black-and-white instead of color.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!
It's like everybody's obsessed with llamas right now... dA has "Llama Badges" you can give to other artists, the libraries are featuring books about llamas on display, llamas are becoming as big a part of livestock as cows and horses...
So what's the deal?
Well, I guess these people got tired of targeting schools and churches, now they're going around and shooting people in the hospital.
It's getting so you can't step outside without wearing a bullet-proof vest in this town. :(
I tuned into Sprout today to watch SST, and was surprised to see episode 3983 ("Three Girl Monsters Who Really Love to Sing"); looks like we'll be seeing Season 33 on Sprout from now on.
I hope they include David Allen Grier's Alladin episode in the syndication package.
