The "Have You Ever Wondered..." Thread

Probably because the material would have to be right up against eye, or as close as possible for the best results... like which would work better, actually looking through prescription glasses to see, or watching a TV or a movie with a screen made from your prescription?

    When you need to rant...

My only thought about suicide is that the religious unrest that goes along with it... supposedly those who commit suicide are forsaken by God, but there's apparently nothing in the Bible that either confirms or contradicts it.

    When you need to rant...

That's been one of my main complaints about adult cartoons for a long time, it's like they put more of their time and effort into trying to, "Let's see how far we can push the envelope in what we can get away with this week" more than anything else... And South Park's gotten its share of...

That I have seen, it used to be posted on the web years ago, but I believe the site it was posted on has since then disappeared, but yes, that was more amusing that the show itself.

    When you need to rant...

You know what else isn't of joking manner? War. And Hogan's Heroes is a prime example of this, not only did it make war look like a big party where it was a great time had by all, but it also made the Nazis, among the most evil people in the world, look like lovable buffoons. Another thing...

    ...

Every year around Mother's Day, there's this commission that does all these different kinds of studies and surveys that would determine exactly how much of an annual salary a mother would make if she were paid for all of the things she does on a daily basis (cooking, cleaning, taking care of...

    Mary Kate and Ashley

You don't know who two people are, so you start up a thread about them? That's astounding logic right there.

    Nick at Nite Thread

I like Gomer and Goober equally (George Lindsay had an interest guest appearance years later on M*A*S*H as a loud-mouthed, obnoxious country bumpkin who was temporarily assigned to the 4077th in Hawkeye's place), it's just they tried different methods to make up for Barney's absense that hurt...

    Nick at Nite Thread

There's a local network in my town that used to play Andy Griffith, and they only played the black-and-white episodes... not that I'm complaining, it seemed like it became a totally different show during the color episodes: no Barney, a population explosion of new characters in Mayberry, etc.

    Songs in Movies?

I think in cases like that, it's when the songs get to become a tired gimmick of literally being show-stopping numbers that stall the story.

    The "What's That Toon?" Thread

Actually, I found a visual aid to help try to identify the cartoon I'm trying to remember: It's at the 6:29 mark, as Donald runs around the house with the red hot metal in his hands.

    The Matt Vogel Appreciation Thread

Have you and/or Phil met or corresponded with him Cindy? I've only read up on him, but I agree, he does seem like a really nice guy, I enjoyed his little bio in the recent 40 Years book, where he talks about being "the puppet geek" in school, lol. Who among us here at MC wasn't? :p

    Yeti puppet on eBay

Hey Jarrod, I'm just curious, but I notice your listings no longer contain a blurb about how 10% of the proceeds from the sale are contributed to Sesame Workshop... likewise, I saw sometime back you removed your demo video from YouTube of your SST Muppet replicas doing PWMS inserts... are you...

    Nick at Nite Thread

They had a similar programming block during the summer of 2003 and 2004 called "The TV Land Kitschen" (yeah, it was really spelled that way), where they showcased "retro rarities"; it was on really REALLY late at night (like from midnight to two) on Friday and Saturday nights all throughout the...

    When you need to rant...

What in the world IS this Sensa stuff? Seriously, I see NOTHING! I just see a bunch of weird people dancing out on a beach shaking a box of nothing onto their food and claiming they lost 40, 50, 60 pounds with the stuff... WHAT IS IT?! I DON'T SEE ANYTHING! IS IT INVISIBLE OR SOMETHING?!

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

I finally just went to YouTube and took a look for myself, and here's what I think... First of all, I can agree with Drtooth, this really is a pretty poor episode... the plot itself is... well, it's just dull, though I DO applaud it for really debunking speculations that still exist today that...

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

THIS! Who are they trying to kid? I mean, really, I rode through Alabama on a road trip to the Florida panhandle... you talk about literally driving through miles upon miles of absolute nothingness! It was really eerie, nothing around you but road and trees, and any town you did happen upon...

    The Matt Vogel Appreciation Thread

We have RHLC, SWAEHB, BBB, and other great threads dedicated to wonderful Muppeteers, but I think it's time that Matt Vogel got a thread for himself, because let's face it, not only is he an awesome performer, but he's had some pretty big shoes to fill, and has been doing an excellent job in...

The "Have You Ever Wondered..." Thread

One thing I've wondered, and maybe Drtooth might know something about this, is when exactly was this FCC regulation implemented that a television series has to have a minimum of five seasons in order to be syndicated? It has to have been in more recent years, because that doesn't explain how...

Both of those cartoons I know exactly what you're talking about, however, neither one of them is the particular cartoon I'm trying to remember.
