Darn. I wish I hadn't read that. I was waiting to get to the last disk on my DVD to see for myself. Lol. It's alright though. It seems Frank performed Piggy in the first season whenever she did a karate chop. That was rare with Richard's Piggy. I've also noticed the scene at the end of...
About that, I just watched the Florence Henderson episode today and I have noticed Kermit was quite a bit harsh with Piggy in that one. Then again she was pushing him pretty hard, so sometimes she asks for it. It seems like Kermit likes Piggy better in the later episodes and future shows and...
Thanks for clarifying the differences, especially between season 2 and season 3 openings. I have noticed there was an extra "Why don't you get things started" that season and sometimes the Statler and Waldorf gags were replaced but I haven't noticed a difference in the shot of Rowlf and Zoot...
Yeah, though Oscar's furry and a bit similar to other SS monsters, I think it's pretty clear that he's just a "Grouch." As for Jim not having a monster character to perform. I doubt that. Sure, he didn't perform any regular commonly known monsters, but I'm sure he performed some extra...
Yeah, it seems like Snuffy's pretty popular. I've noticed he had quite a few story lines this season. I guess it just seems that way because with Elmo getting all the air time these days, all characters seem underappreciated. Lol.
Hmmm. I always liked Prarie singing "All by Myself." Also, those plays she did.
As for Zoe, I might want to think about that one for a while. I am more used to the earlier episodes, before she was around.
I got the DVD yesterday, so I thought I'd comment here. Actually, so far I've only seen the first two episodes and the first ep I already had through Timelife. The difference with the DVD version was that included the original opening and Muppet morsels.
About Piggy being performed by...
I find that hard to believe. Elmo's one of Kevin's trademark characters. I don't think he'd be replaced anytime soon. I do remember hearing somewhere that John worked Elmo's left arm. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.
I don't recall "oo-dee boo boo." The only time I saw Foo-Foo on TMS was in the Kenny Rogers episode and that one hasn't been working on my VCR.
I do recall hearing Kermit's line: "I am not that dog's dada!" Which episode was "oo-dee boo boo" from?
Hmmmm. I think MFC aired after Snuffy was revealed. Also, I thought it was just the adults on "Sesame Street" who couldn't see Snuffy at first, but didn't he interact with other Muppets from time to time?
Also in response to your comment about uncredited performers, another one would...
Actually, I caught Fozzie's ears still wiggling in the Raquel Welsh ep from season 3. Come to think of it, I haven't caught too much ear wiggling in any of the season 1 eps I have so far. I might catch it when I get the DVD and can watch more than just four episodes from that season.
I was wondering about that too. So your saying that though Disney owns the Muppets, they still don't own the rights to the original recordings. Also, I was thinking maybe the reason some of the eps are cut was since they spent money restoring the original openings, they decided to save some...
Hmmm. I never really thought of that. I guess it's possible. It's pretty easy to rhyme "know" and "go" and "way" and "day." Another possibility is that the verse was written ahead of time and he just added "if you're lucky."
