There's various things you need to kill off in Windows, notably Messenger. Installing a decent firewall (not the useless thing that comes with XP) would help, too.

A friend and I provided the video services for a production of "Return to the Forbidden Planet" a few years ago. Live and prerecorded video effects, a video link between the onstage cast and an off-stage actor, prerecorded video inserts... Great fun!

I don't know if this is the case with US television, but here in the UK the broadcasters have a blanket agreement which allows them to use any recording in a broadcast programme. The only time individual rights have to be negotiated is when the programme is being released for sale or rental...
