Muffining is when a thread goes seriously off-topic.
beaker, you said that you would like to see what JHC and the Muppeteers think of what's going on? I'd kinda like to know what's going on. HA! I saw the "Save the Muppets" petition, and I honestly can't figure it out. I haven't seen any...
Oh, I have noticed that, too! Richard's can be less obvious than others, but he adds his own thing all the time.
I've said this before, and Fozzie Bear recently pointed it out in another thread, but Jerry's puppets tend to mouth less sylables than any other. The Henson punch is very evident...
Well, technically speaking, it's very much Jim Henson company, but not Muppets... weird saying that, but I don't know if the Jim Henson Company can really call this "The Muppets", can they? Seein' as how Disney kinda owns that name now...
AMEN!!!
Just What Was Wrong
I look out my window,
I can see one small dove.
Once tried to forget
All the things that I love.
Kermit took a backseat
When he once rode shotgun.
Forgot all the fun times,
Thought those times were done.
The Rainbow Connection,
How truly inspired!
How sad that so...
I've noticed people are always very picky about Miss Piggy, but don't really say anything about Fozzie.
I think Eric is doing a great job with the characters. Sure, I have my complaints about some of it, but it's basically just minor details. I think he's doing better than anyone could have...
Oooh! Oooh! For tours, there could be a little bus that goes around the park, and Scooter could be your tour guide! He could just be sitting at the front of the bus giving the tour.
Unless using animatronics, the tour couldn't be too long, though. That poor puppeteer's hand would fall off...
The only one I haven't seen is The Frog Prince. I really oughta find it.
The Muppets Musicians of Bremen is really very good. For the most part, though, the voices are done by people other than the Muppeteers. (Jerry and Jim use their voices for a couple of characters, but that's about it)
"But... but, Dead Tom's always been dead. That's why he's called 'Dead Tom'."
"... Oh."
Ya know, in imitating Wall-Eyed Pike's voice just now, I realize he's played by Steve Whitmire. How cool is that!
By the way, you probably already know this, but the guy your quoting is named "Mudwell...
Yeah, unfortunately it wasn't on the TV version.
I really liked Piggy in the movie, too. All but in one part: when she starts hugging and kissing the rats. It made me feel uncomfortable. When I re-watched it, though, I discovered it's supposed to make you feel uncomfortable, as shown by Pepe...
Oh, I realize that. I'm kinda keen on the whole film-makin' process. ;) I was pretty much just wondering if they'd ever looked back on that episode, realized what he said, and tried to explain it somehow... if even by just having another Fraggle refer to "human beings".
Yeah, I find you can often times tell who is performing a character just from the way they perform the puppet. Jim Henson and Jerry Nelson both have their own style that is somewhat easy to identify. Bill Barretta, too, come to think of it.
If you can't tell from the voice, check the performance!
The first one I ever saw in the theater was Muppet Treasure Island. Unfortunately, it's the only Muppet movie I've ever seen in the theater! I saved up all my money to go see Muppets From Space, but my parents suggested we wait, and they bought it for me when it came on tape.
I remember where...
The Monster Baby Hour Show Tonight Muppets!!! :)
... Seriously, though, to quote my favorite little go-fer, "Fozzie's right!" (Scooter, It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie)
By the way, Marky, I was wondering if you had seen the extended DVD version of The Muppets Wizard of Oz. It has...
