I was just curious to see if there was a difference in a sock puppet versus something like Elmo or Ernie. I've looked at both, and even tried it with an Elmo type puppet, and the best I could do is open them up equally. I suppose it can be done with practice, but I seen alot more manipulation...
Not sure if anyone is still looking, but I seen this one on there today - 290557839405.....
I also seen that someone had an "Anything Puppet" from 1974 for $350.00 on there as well........
I wanted to ask you about dyeing foam or antron, something as small as the tongue, how much dye did you use? I only want to do 2 small patches of fleece for a few noses....
Thanks!
The fur (pattern) should naturally follow the shape of your hand, but looking at countless pics and videos, I still feel the skull goes back much further than that.
BUT, you need to remember when looking at resource materials, there are so many different Elmos that were used and everyone of...
It's funny, because me and another member just had this conversation, we were under the impression only reticulated foam would hold dye?
I'm so glad this came up!
HaHaHa - I remember reading somewhere that Jim Henson was in a "reversed" fish tank under the stump and the puppet was placed on his hand once he was in place. They shot it again after he was out and cut the footage together...
Scenes where muppets were swimming, or in a boat, I think may...
You can get them clean with a brillo pad as well, someone actually posted the link on another thread which is where I got the tip from....if it dulls them too much I just shoot it with a clear coat afterwards.
Ha, thanks, that would help! My laptop is pretty fried, so I just pay close attention and pray for the best!
Meant to ask, do you always use wood for the mouth plate?
Sorry, I have to watch them without sound, I missed that part. Though I think there were a few spots where he did show up on the table briefly? Would have loved to see him done... :)
