Well flying by the seat of my pants made me crash big time... LOL!!
I seriously failed on the body pattern, wrong shape, too small, ran out of material to keep doing test mock ups.
Does anyone have a good idea for the body pattern???
Thanks for any help.

So your saying I'm doing pretty good for not having a clue as to what I'm doing?? LOL!!
Thanks for the comps, it has been a fun project and I may try something else.
I like to build prop replicas, Studio Scale models, and costumes, and this like another prop to me, just in different way to...
No, I don't have any pics of the foam Skeleton I made. I hate turning this thing inside and out and I'm trying not to any more unless I have to as it is starting to make it come apart because it is a lot of stress on it.
I bascally coverd the back of the head to the front nose and the lower jaw...
Thanks for the comps guys!!
Puppetise, thanks for the offer, but I just used the FP pattern readily available here on the forum for the head and I just added the neck.
I upped the size listed on the pattern 125% to get it to 8 1/4" for the main dimention.

I have the MR Kermit the Frog poser puppet on order, but I wanted a true hand puppet, so I decided to go ahead and start to make my own.
It is not coming out too bad so far since I have no clue as to what I'm doing and how to make a puppet, so I'm totally winging this by the seat of my pants...
Here is a test pad for my Kermit using Alpine fleece. I used the FP pattern and enlarged it to 8 1/4" and added a neck to it.
I have got a green Alpine fleece that I will use and I'm going to try and darken it just a bit if I can.
I've got stiff red felt for the mouth, that will be a...
What kind of fur material is used for Elmo and Cookie Monster?
What lenght of fur is needed 1"-2"?
Is it readily available at JoAnn fabrics or is it a special material that is hard to get?
Lynn
I've been reading that people use ping pong balls for the eyes of puppets.
I'm assuming they are used for Kermit as well?
Are there more then one sized Ping Ping ball, or are there different sizes?
Are they just cut exactly in half, 2/3'rd, or just a little over half?
Lynn
If have been watchng the Muppet show alot this past week and I too have noticed the wire used to what I assume to help hold his midriff area in some of his full body shots.
Lynn
Thanks for the great info!!
That will help me get started.
I finally just won a Fisher Price Kermit off eBay for $18, considering this my 4 try to win one off ebay and finally winning, I'm pretty pleased and excited.
Lynn
Thanks for the info!!
I figured it by taking 6.5 and doubling it (100%) to get to 13.5" and then added another (50%) 3.25 making it 16.75"
It did it on the calculator the first time and got the measurment you got and I said "no that can't be right" and then did it my way. LOL.
