Wow! This is about the best news I think I've heard in a long time. I think I'm more excited over this than when TMS Season 2 was announced (for the actual release). I always thought Jim's early work would make an incredible DVD!
I thought the episode she guest starred in was really neat in that they had two skits from Sam and Friends on there. I like seeing them reuse different older bits, if just to see what they might have been like.
My only complaint with the sets is that there are no lyrics in the subtitles. I...
The 60 Minutes behind-the-scenes segment and Of Muppets and Men are, I think, essential to Season 3 and Season 5 respectively (well, maybe not essential, but they make the most sense for Muppet Show releases). I love the idea of including every Muppet special ever made, but I'm hoping they get...
Everyone keeps saying how much they would like to see The Muppets Go Hollywood and The Muppets Go to the Movies on the next sets, but they would be more appropriate for The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper if they ever do 2-disc sets for those movies.
Anyway, still haven't received my...
It was stated that the Jim Henson Company would be focusing on Power of the Dark Crystal first. I assume once post-production is done on that, we'll hear alot more about Fraggle Rock.
:o : The bear can barely stand it, folks.
:) : Wouldn't that be BARRY LEE stand it?
:o : ... Who's the comic here, frog?
STATLER AND WALDORF: We've been asking that for years!
DO HO HO HO HO!
... Did Waldorf just say he liked the old opening better? That's fantastic!
I think Dave Goelz was probably sitting in an odd spot. Plus, it seemed like either Gonzo's head would be pinned on normally and it wasn't here, or his usual manner of performing would keep the body up in place...
Has anyone checked the DVD credits? There's usually a DVD credits somewhere on one of the discs for people who worked on the menus and suchwhat. The credits for any special features would probably be on there, and if it lists Frank Oz as one of the Muppet performers, it would most likely be...
Well, I'm pretty sure no one on this thread so far has meant to be disrespectful of anyone. You're right. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But perhaps those with a negative opinion toward certain performers could express such opinions respectfully as well. Sometimes it seems like...
"Don't take away money
From artists just like me.
How else can I afford another solid gold Hum-V?
And diamond studded swimming pools,
These things don't grow on trees!
So, all I ask is everybody please
Don't download this song."
By the way, Steve and Eric seem to work together very well, don't they? I'm not sure if Steve works with Eric quite as well as he does with Dave Goelz, but I think they do pretty well playing off each other, and that's important for those characters. That's what made those characters so...
"Those who can't, whine."
I have always thought Steve's performance as Kermit was about the best one could ever get to the way Jim did it. And even Jim's Kermit changed dramatically over the years. Listen to a '60s performance compared with an '80s performance. Rowlf, Ernie, Kermit, they all...
The one thing that bothered me about modern Piggy was the hair. I absolutely LOVE Piggy's hairstyle from The Great Muppet Caper. I'm hoping the look comes back for everyone. It's nice to hear that it is for our Pig.
I don't have the time right now to see if this was already posted, but it's something that everyone should see, I think.
It's Jim Henson, Frank Oz and Michael Frith talking about Kermit:
