Personally, I don't understand how Barney benefitted anyone. It treats kids like they're idiots, even the ten year old cast members! I hated the show even when I was young enough to like the show. It shouldn't have been competition for Sesame Street at all.
I like Elmo a lot, but I agree he's been overexposed... and no, not just because he's one of the many naked Muppets. "'scuse Elmo!"
I think that when Kevin Clash first started with Elmo, perhaps the first ten years or so, he was a great character, as dw brought out. To me, the absolute best...
I would trade, but I'm afraid I don't have anything quite rare enough for it.
I have a copy of time magazine with Big Bird on the cover from the early seventies. :wisdom:
Well, um, just a reminder, it's typically against forum rules to buy such a tape. However, trades are more than acceptable!
Oh, and there's a thread over in Henson Headlines discussing this. Although it is nice to have a heads-up over here in puppetry, since that's the main concern of the...
*sigh*
Of all the Muppeteers to meet, at the very top of my list is Steve Whitmire and Dave Goelz. They have such a passion for the Muppets.
And now I'm depressed. An opportunity to meet Steve, another opportunity to meet Dave, and I can't be at either.
:( :sympathy: <--- Sad Muppets
It may be that he was made for Muppet Treasure Island, and he doesn't have a name. There's alot of Muppets out there that... well, just don't have names.
Attempts have been made. Supposedly, Craig Shemin fought to use Kermit on Emmett Otter's DVD, but Disney wouldn't let them.
Odd considering they lent Kermit out for Mr. Magorium's Wonder Empoium
I watched Sesame Street mainly during the '89-'92 era, so I got the Elmo transitional years. I understand the reasons to dislike Elmo, he really gets alot more attention than I think he's earned. Although, he's earned that attention more than Abby has, who I feel was introduced and stuffed down...
An aspect of the character that I think gets used a lot less lately is the "lazy patriot" part of his character. He acted all high and mighty, but Kermit typically had to correct his "facts" all the time. I always found that hillarious.
Joanns does have some good fur, but not always consistant. For instance, you might find the right color one day, but they might never have it again. If not online, that's usually where I get fur.
Some local fabric stores will have some, too. I remember going into one a while ago that had the...
Ronald Reagan was in Storm Warning with Doris Day
Doris Day was in Pillow Talk with Tony Randall
Tony Randall was on The Muppet Show with Kermit the Frog
NEXT: Dan Fogler
