I think Disney's strategy is to remind people about the muppets before they put on a show. First with this movie and probably tons of merchandising and advertising.

Just my two cents here... Muppets stories should stay within the movie zone since I think to try and tell there story on a TV basis wouldn't be any good because, first off sit-coms and various shows aren't allow to have a story that goes really evolves with each episode since the network wants...

I'm going say no :) I think the film-makers realize they have an awesome film-making tactic in there hands here. By making everyone in oz a puppet, they are clearly differenciating between the real world and oz, giving it more of a dream like quality.
