KERMIT IS AT THE VMA'S TONIGHT? That. Is. AWESOME. Where did you hear that?
Oh, if it's Steve's Kermit I will cry with joy (and if not... cry the other way...). But overall, what an exciting weekend to be a Muppet fan!
This is what is causing me one long, continuous panic attack right now. He doesn't say ANYTHING. The song and sketch were clearly pre-recorded--Gonzo's mouth isn't in sync with what he's saying in the beginning--but the interview made my stomach plunge. The only good thing I can say is the...
Thanks! I watched it and the whole thing looked amAAAAAzing! The clip was very short but the whole thing was so Muppety and wonderful... As to Steve, the Kermit puppeteering was a lot more skillful than AGT, but it concerns me that he didn't say anything in that little interview segment at the...
Ahh! This is great news! I wonder if anybody managed to get a video camera in... I'd LOVE to see a video of the performance, it sounds amazing! (Plus we could hopefully figure out who was playing the Frog too...)
This thread has forced me out of lurkerdom for the first time in... a very, very long time (so hullo everybody!).
As someone who has been fortunate enough to sit in the same room with Steve and Kermit (and Dave and Gonzo and later the Riz) last November in Atlanta, I have to say that some of...
Oooh, that's a really good way to think about Gonzo. I like it.
And just a note on the CGI: They've been using it for pretty much 15 years on Muppet Movies--there's a bunch of CGI in MCC, and that was back in the earlier stages of the technique but it all worked beautifully. If nothing else...
Another news article, this time from Entertainment Weekly (it was listed on the front page of their site!)

And let me just state before anyone goes off into a tizzy:
"The puppet characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober, and Red will be among...
YAY CHARLES GRODIN!
Seriously, who could ask for anything more? :)

What it won’t have, Segel insisted, is any sort of beyond the pale adult humor — the type of humor he’s become famous for recently with the success of “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
“When I get into Muppet mode I turn...
Now I don't think that's exactly fair. You can't judge one person's merit as a fan against another's. I hate that: "I'm a bigger fan than you are" stuff. It's all just ridiculous. You can't quantify love of a certain thing. You can't say "Oh, you don't own any photo puppets and I have the...
See, I don't order my DVDs online because I like to actually go to the store, hold it in my hands and take it home. I know there are discounts that you can get online but I'd rather pay more money and actually have it and enjoy it on the day it gets out.
But for me the time between now and May...
OMG okay so this isn't new news or anything like that, BUT...
I've been working at the Viacom building recently, which is the same place where they have MTV studios in Times Square, and today I was leaving and walking down the stairs when I actually passed Jason Segel on the escalator on the...
The posters are all over NY too. I adore them.
And that website is just TOO MUCH! Thanks for posting it! I'm starting to believe that Jason Segel might be my soul mate... Muppets, Broadway and Buffy? Um, only my favorite things EVER! Plus I saw Dracula the Musical five times (I kid you not...
Ryan that was just awesome--putting all the Muppets and how they relate to the dream. Very beautiful and very true.
And btw, I think Fozzie has a dark side: his anguish over not being funny is slightly tragic in a way. :o
As much as I love him, and maybe it's just me, but I was happy when they made a collective decision to not have Rowlf speak anymore after Jim's death. I thought it was a perfect tribute. And I was sorely disappointed by what I heard in the Christmas Party Sing Along song. I would've rather they...
Hey I just thought of this and thought it might be a fun thread.
I'd say that pretty much everyone on this board considers him-or-herself a Muppet expert. So, the question is, if you could teach a Muppet class for one semester, what would you teach it on?
For instance, would you like to teach...
Yeah, personally I didn't find it that jaded either. I mean the go-go dancing and everything takes place in an alternate universe where Kermit was never born--it's supposed to be bad and offputting and different from what we know. I think that was the point.
And aside from the stunt casting...
