Every time you come here you write as if Steve is over and done with and we should all just move on to Artie. I'm sorry, but most of us are just not ready to do that and, until we are given an explanation, will not accept Artie as the new Kermit. We're not butting into Steve's personal life, he...
Good for you, DrTooth :)
Sure there are some things the Muppets have done in the Disney era that hasn't pleased everyone, or that hasn't been up to the standard that we like to see. But people should take a moment and remember the horror of the EMTV years. Did anything happen at that time...
No, those are public. Anyone can @___ someone. I saw Rob Thomas get into a big fight with some of his fans through that just earlier in the day... Oh Twitter. Ha
I just @JimmyFallon -ed him. Was that wrong? I said:
SarahLabadini@jimmyfallon Hey Jimmy--any info on the not!Kermit that was on AGT and the VMAs? Muppet fans are worried about Steve Whitmire...
thought it might be just enough to peak his interest had he not heard...
I also tried to contact a writer for Entertainment Weekly who's written about the Muppets before. I thought maybe if she was interested in the situation, and called public attention to it, maybe something could actually get done. Anyone know of any out-of-the-box contacts, even through Twitter...
I put a link on my fbk profile to the petition--got a couple of people to sign it and I'll keep reposting it for a couple of days... IDK what kind of contract Disney has going where no one can say anything, but the Muppeteers have always been so good to us fans. If they knew the kind of anxiety...
I definitely agree. Plus, for such a small team, they have a good number of successes right now, the biggest one probably being Sid the Science Kid. It wasn't until my 10 year old sister (clearly not the target audience for the show) told me that EVERYONE watches the show that I realized how...
You said it here exactly. I thought the voice was a significant improvement last night (though no Kermit), and the puppetry was better, but that's EXACTLY what was missing. On AGT too--there was no battle to upstage anyone. Piggy took center focus and Kermit was just... there. On the side.
I definitely agree that it would be hard to believe that the hand inside the frog yesterday was NOT Steve, and maybe his lack of speaking means Steve just has absolutely no voice? I just want someone to say SOMETHING
I missed the clip, but my best friend (a non-Muppet fan) sent me an email saying it had happened, and she mentioned that Kermit sounded off. I hadn't told her anything about the whole AGT/Artie/Steve thing and she picked it up... And I don't think she's seen a single Muppet thing since we...
