Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

It's common knowledge that those were produced back in May 2015. In fact, it's known that there's three additional ones that have yet to be seen.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Okay, I'd mentioned that I recently saw a video a few weeks ago with Kermit talking about the beginning of Summer, with Whitmire as Kermit, and thought it was new, and was surprised that nobody'd mentioned that online, but now I decided to watch it again and saw that it was posted in 2015 (I...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

While I thought it was odd that Whitmire would retire, last night I thought of a quote from Frank Oz on why he's distanced himself from the Muppets to direct, where he said something like "when you've done the same thing for over 30 years, eventually you want to do something else", and started...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Well I have been able to read it now.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

It seems like I can't get to Tough Pigs now. Hopefully whatever's going on will resolve soon and I can read it. I just realized: Matt's first public performance as Kermit will be in an online video, and the first time we heard Matt as The Count was in an online video. I keep joking in my head...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I think that means that, if we were to contact Whitmire or Disney and they didn't want to reveal the reason, we should respect their wishes (especially Whitmire's). Or maybe we should just not worry about the reason for retirement and, if we were to contact Whitmire, to not ask.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

This is a shock, even though his characters have barely been in anything new all year. It's interesting that the news announcement was supposed to be exclusive to Tough Pigs and The Muppet Mindset, I first saw the news at Muppet Wiki - looking in the recent changes section, where I saw...

    The "You know what?" thread

I noticed that. My thought was, "wrong theme park".

    The "You know what?" thread

Been watching the Vacation movies tonight, and there's a few things I've thought about... I've read on many sites that they originally wanted the Griswald's to actually go to Disneyland but changed it to the fictional Wally World because Disneyland is open all year round. So... really? That's...

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

I recently saw that the Muppet Wiki article on this song now has info on why the song stopped airing early on, sourcing a 1998 interview with Joan Ganz Cooney (so the information has been out there for a long time...): It was all because of the rumor that the initials were meant to be LSD...

Warner Home Video now distributing Sesame Workshop DVDs

Well, on August 29, there's going to be a new DVD called Trick or Treat on Sesame Street, obviously Halloween-themed (and two months early). I think this will be the first time since Warner Home Video got the video rights that they put out two new Sesame Street releases in a single month (to be...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

There's one episode of the Netflix original series The Ranch where one of the characters asks his father if he'd like to watch something on Netflix, and the laughter goes really wild over this line. I guess it's funny because it's a Netflix-original series and they mentioned the service, but is...

    The "You know what?" thread

For years, I've thought about how the majority of Oscar-winning Warner Bros. shorts, as well as the ones that were nominated, are not as great as many that were not even nominated. When it comes to the Oscar-winners, Birds Anonymous is really the only one that deserved it. Speedy Gonzales is...

    Little things we've noticed

For years I've noticed that Biff and Sully's hardhats have changed from having no names printed on them to having names printed on them (and back to no names printed, judging by the season 47 set photos that show them... I'm not sure whether their names were on their hats in their season 40...

Where's the love for Rocky and Bullwinkle?

Just yesterday I realized the meaning of one line that I hadn't gotten. It was in the Bullwinkle's Corner segment Hickory Dickory Dock. When the stubborn mouse won't run down the clock, Bullwinkle points out that he's supposed to run down, and the mouse says "in my script it's the clock that...

    Questions about anything

I recently got a copy of Rugrats: Season 1. Does anybody know why they put the opening and closing on every episode? The chapter stops list each half-episode together as originally aired, yet the opening precedes each episode, even the second-half episode, and the closing follows each episode...

Warner Home Video now distributing Sesame Workshop DVDs

I've seen that the next Sesame Street DVD is coming August 8, and will be the first Elmo's World DVD to contain episodes of the new format. It'll be titled Elmo's Wonderful World (ever since I saw the new opening, which has that among the lyrics, I've felt that the reformatted segments should...

    The "You know what?" thread

I've seen the five released issues of the Back to the Future comic book side series Biff to the Future, and I feel like some of it contradicts things mentioned in Back to the Future part II. Oh yeah, and this might contain spoilers for the Biff to the Future comics Like in the movie, when Biff...

    The Muppet Mindset

The Muppet Mindset has begun a brand-new Muppet fan survey. https://muppetmindset.wordpress.com/2017/06/08/the-all-new-great-muppet-survey/ The questions seem a little more difficult this time around.

Where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?

Assuming this is the same Tiny Dancer who ran The Sesame Street Lyrics Archive, she once said on Facebook that a Sesame Workshop intern made her a tape of clips taken from the archives as well.
